It's 12 today which is surprisingly warm, went to -2 over a week ago, these freezing numbers will return soon, I'm afraid.

In other news: I'm slowly regaining my ability to read. There was a time when I read like crazy, then there was a time when I wanted to, but couldn't hold a book in my hand for more than 5 minutes. Now my book-o-mood is slowly rising again. Animal Farm is a good read.
 
Brigantium is alluding to the storm smashing England at the moment, although it's most definitely not a hurricane as they can't form close to Britain.
 
Yeah, but 'nasty high winds' sounds so boring. :p I didn't know a hurricane was an impossibility, though, you learn something every day.

When Michael Fish said there wouldn't be a hurricane in 1987 he was correct. Sea surface temperatures need to be at least 27°C before a hurricane can form. That won't happen near Britain at the end of October.
