Slash was here last Thursday or Friday.. Yeah right, 130$ a ticket, I'd better buy me a racket. Who do he thinks he is, Steve Harris?? :D

Yeah I can imagine.. They (rightly) presume that since here's a wealthy place, even if they over-charge people will still go, since there are not too many alternatives.. The prices for a concert here are in best of the best 80$.

The worst of all is that companies don't pay taxes, nor pension fees for their employees, so it's a MEGA abuse.. Add to this that the labourers' wages are about 300$ per month and you get the picture.

I'm trying to be as much as possible out of this shit (and similar stuff like that). Last year I went to Metallica but that's it.

Ah, you're in Dubai, so that's not a surprise. :p Slash was here two days ago. It was about 60 euros here, too, though.

Fucking bastards..
UAE > Turkey > Bulgaria. The product is the same, but they charge according to the potential expected wealth.

Yes, that's how they roll, sadly.

I seriously need to change my sleeping routine, one week to start the second term at school and again woke up at 4 pm. :grumble:

I'm off for some tennis. I was off for a week and need to be fit again. We are in the middle of the League and I'm playing in a very demanding division.

I'm sitting here in bed waiting for the time I get ready for work and I just want to stay in bed all day or at least for the rest of the morning. :D

Is that true? Are you certain that the different venues don't have different costs associated with them? Possibly differences in tax rates and permits, etc?

I'm not saying you are 100% untrue here, but there are other mitigating circumstances that come into play. I can see why a concert at Chicago or L.A. would have a different cost from Des Moines, based on the fees to put on an event.

This is from Serbia's Got Talent show. It's all in Serbian so just focus on the music:
They played a bit of Maiden in the beginning, then a bit of Metallica's The Unforgiven :edmetal: After that, it's something that sounds very similar to Into The Lungs Of Hell and Dialectic Chaos by Megadeth.

Is it just me, or have rare CDs become much harder to find on Amazon?

Richard III, that's cool.

Laptop dying, less cool.

CDs are just rarer and rarer. They may not even make them soon. Scary, eh?

Good luck!

Thanks! Unfortunately I received a major punishment.. In the second game I was a bit better & more concentrated, but I have some serious work to do if I want to stay in this division, let alone to go up.

For where I am, I know that there are no taxes, the wages of labourers are very low, no social security, blah blah blah. Maybe the venue more expensive?? But again how much more expensive, this is ridiculous..
My conclusion is that in a way they charge what the people are willing to pay. In France, with bigger income than Turkey or Bulgaria and certainly bigger taxes, I doubt that the ticket would be more than 60 Euro.. Probably it would be even less.

In any case the difference UAE 100 Euro -Bulgaria 25 Euro is ridiculously big no matter what.

Don't see the point of CDs anymore. Oh wait. There is one. iTunes store's format is mp3.
This is somehow a downgrade. Since you buy them, they should be FLAC, or whichever loose-less.
