The problem with American football is their overtime is sudden death, which is silly considering the advantage the team with initial possession gets.
 
Shit!! From there they took the regulation of sudden death in football some years ago?? That sucked everybody hated that.

But they modified it somewhat. Now the team who wins the coin toss needs to score a TD on the first possession to win the game, a field goal won't do anymore like it used too. So teams can't travel 40 easy yard and just kick a field goal and win it anymore. If a team only scores a field goal on possession the other team gets a shot...to either tie it with a field goal or win the game with a TD.

PS-- they did change the overtime rule. It's modified so that if the first team with the ball only scores a field goal, they don't win. So, a touchdown on a first possession wins, then any score after that wins. Yeah, complicated.
