Most people are good people.
But most people aren't always as good as you want them to be.

I agree with Mckindog, most people are good. If you believe that most people suck, you just have unrealistic expectations.

Good and bad are very subjective categories.

How do you know most people are good ? Have you met them personally ? Plus, having hurt somebody or not having hurt somebody doesn't prove you're a good or bad person.

This can go on forever because it's more about perspective rather than observation.

It is. Today's trip was 13 km and a stop half-way at a lodge where they sell coffee and other good stuff. I had a waffle :) And I was rather exhausted when I had finished those 13 km.

That sounds like fun! I'd love something like that. We have only had enough snow here to sled once and it was gone in two days. We've had a few mild winters lately and not as much snow as I've seen as a kid. :( Maybe I should make a trip up north and try that!

But that sounds as if people out there are awful and it's just here that they are cool. And that's not the case. I barely know people who suck in real life.

And I know that the most of the people I know personally aren't good. Which is still not saying anything because the people you personally know is about your environment and your environment doesn't always resemble the rest of the world.

That's the thing though, you shouldn't assume that a majority of people aren't good just because you personally know people that aren't good.

Explained with my edit, the same applies to Ariana's point. Your environment doesn't prove anything.
If people were inherently bad, humanity would have been wiped off centuries ago. I don't deny the fact that people can be stupid sometimes. But bad - I don't think so.

I think 'good' vs 'bad' is a pretty black and white view.

I know a lot of people that I like and a lot that I dislike. Not because they are 'good' or 'bad'. People have a way of either rising to meet expectations or falling below the line of expectation. Most of that depends on whether or not they live up to our own standards.

There's no proof of that. In fact, one could argue that amount of good on the world has been lowering with every year that passes. And also, I may say that the powerful ones were the good ones back in the day and that caused the humanity to stand tall.
