I've often thought about that. I can have a car problem and it costs a few hundred dollars, but when I get home and the remote isn't where I left it, I lose all cool. I often think that the big problems really eat at us, but we can't do anything about them so we just suck it up, but when some small thing that we have control over happens, its that 'straw that breaks the camel's back' deal.

The new Halford live in London cd is excellent. And quite raw. The toms aren't triggered at all, so there is some quite unforgiving old school cymbal bleed in spots, but whatever. You'd better go get it before it goes out of print when Rob reclaims control of Metal God Entertainment. :D

Edit: I knew it! Just checked the booklet. Executive producer: John Baxter (Halford's longtime manager he fired about 7-8 months ago). Surprised that Roy Z's in on it too though (producer). Because I can't believe that Rob would've sanctioned this (since Baxter's fired, Rob hasn't said a word about this release. Although the usual people are involved though... Attila Juhasz too, so what do I know?)
Ah he finally broke up with Baxter who probably was more than his manager only.

Happy New Year guys, I'm back :D Time to catch up to what I missed:

I'm sure many people would state that heavy metal is something that you "outgrow" when you reach a certain age....
No offence to anyone, but people like that suck :P Metal is forever! :shred: Of course, if by "outgrow" you mean stop listening to metal altogether because you think it's juvenile.

And I'll probably almost fully outgrow of metal when I get older as I've already started to prefer listening to much calmer or sophisticated stuff. (progressive rock, jazz, classical blues etc.)
I don't get it. Why is metal less sophisticated than prog rock, jazz and classical blues?

Oh, the stress of waiting something to happen.
:D

but the production suffers a bit - especially the drums.
That's the case for all Metallica albums IMO :D
My list would be: RTL, DM, Metallica, MOP, Justice, KEA, Reload, Load.

Source please :P

In this sophisticated doesn't mean "more valuable in the cultural sense" but being hard to understand properly. (by the way I just realized I forgot to put a comma there, it's not classical blues, it's classical, blues. :D)

Aaaand I don't get it. If you mean drums' production quality, Black Album, Load and ReLoad are top notch in that sense, especially Black Album is one of the best produced albums of all time. If you mean by drumming quality, sure, Lars is not the greatest drummer but his work on AJFA is astonishing.

If you're hinting that they were mates, then no. It's well known within the Halford fanbase who Rob is engaged to, and has been with since the 90's, but let's not get into details out of respect for his privacy. :)

I think he did a bit, yes. I mean he's suing the Priest branch for vast amounts of money anyway. 50 million dollars.

Well hm yeah. On Justice they are too loud..but on some tracks on RTL (Fade To Black for example) it sounds like the drum kit is hidden away in some room with pillows and mattresses and someone closed the door...

Wow. I just listened a bit to a crappy audience bootleg of Halford live in Sao Paulo 2001. They play The Ripper, and Halford does the intro scream perfectly clean with power, just like in the 70's.

Oh wow. IMO drum sound on Black Album is pretty horrible. I can't listen to that album on my Mp3 player cause my ears hurt when I hear the snare drum sound.

I do not enjoy writing my bachelor thesis. Very happy I'm not out to get a masters or doctors degree. *Shrugs*

But then again, one Doctor on this forum is enough:D ^. Or maybe LC has doctorated?
