In 1989 I was going for hair like Adrian Smith.
Never quite made it, but it was long enough to give my kids great pleasure in looking at old photos.
My wife seemed to like it then, but nowadays it is very short and already three of them protest loudly if I make noises about growing it.
Gotta admit though, short is very easy to maintain - no combing needed and it's dry 30 seconds after leaving the shower.

On the other hand, there must be a commonly accepted rule that all IT specialists should have long hair. I've never in my life met one who doesn't.

Since schools here no longer care about the length of hair, I'm gonna have long hair for the first time in my life. Should be fun to try out.

I work in a pretty big IT department.. only one guy has long hair ... rest are pretty short.

If it's quite short now, you have to know that there is a very awkward period when it's neither long, nor short and looks bad whatever you do. It's imminent.

Same with beards, I usually grow one during the winter (cancelled this year, the grey to non-grey ratio was too high) .. but you do certainly look like crap for a few weeks.

The guy I worked with in IT at my old job had short hair. I had long hair. The guy who temped was bald, and the head guy was a Conservative evangelical Christian.

I work in IT and mine is short-ish. When in high school, I had a mullet to end all mullets! but now it's business casual... eh.

Idiot
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Joshua Price-Brent was arrested and charged with manslaughter on Saturday after practice squad teammate Jerry Brown Jr. was killed in the crash of a car driven by Price-Brent, police said. Both formerly played at Illinois.

Beyond killing a person, the guy just killed his chances to make millions as he was emerging as a starter.

It's alright, man. You look good bald. Germans are supposed to shave their heads and wear monocles.

You mean, like this?

On a related note, how do you like my new winter outfit (there's a dark grey beanie that goes with it, but I didn't want to cheat you out of seeing the hair I talked about)? I really like that coat.

YES!!! And he wore three huge silver rings that when put together said "JESUS LOVES YOU". He'd take them off every time he went to work in a case.

Sadly that is pretty common down here ... at least my employer has enough common sense to tell people to tone the religious stuff down. At my wife's work, they have prayer groups and all kinds of crap like that ... HR told them to dial that down a bit and make it clear that not going (or going) has no affect on anyone's position in the company.

Har, har, a guy at work (age 35 or so) complained the other day about a "bad hair day". He keeps his head shaved, and his bad hair day was that he had discovered three grey hairs in his face :D
