Er, I meant more in general. This year hasn't been too bad despite a lot of school issues. I'm really having problems in school so far this year. But besides that it's been fine really.
Gotcha.
And glad to hear it (other than the school stuff, I mean).

I'm not the same as you cause I've seen the light and I'm gaining in height now
I got a halo 'round me

I am neither an atheist, nor actively anti-religious.
So I am frequently amazed at how many artists I love subscribe to lyrical themes such as the above.
And how often I nod my head in agreement.

I got up early today to stand in line at the ticket agent. Really sleepy now...

Oh well, at least I got the ticket.

Feeling half asleep despite already having my second cup of coffee and listening to Paschendale.

I'm on my second cup of coffee, and I still can't face the day
I'm thinking 'bout that lady who got lost along the way
And if I don't stop this trembling hand from reaching for the phone
I'll be reaching for the bottle, lord, before the day is done

Gordon Lightfoot is the sort of stuff my dad used to play to me when I was little. It was clearly not his intention to have me listening to Iron Maiden and Immortal in the end, but the development is surprisingly linear, if I look back.

My influences are pretty obvious. My dad used to play the Beatles, Purple, Gary Moore. He plays the guitar pretty decent, too. Used to be in a school band. When I was little, he used to play and sing when we went to bed. Ahh, nice memories.

When my parents realised I was into rock music, they gave me my first Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and AC/DC albums. I still think they were kind of hoping I'd stay away from Metallica and Motörhead.

Tough luck :D

My dad was/is a big Lightfoot fan too. Still have a soft spot for that stuff.

My parents raised me on Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, Alice Cooper, and The Doors.

Edit: And Pink Floyd.

Nice. Recently I have been (re-)discovering some more old Fleetwood Mac:
Very intense performance by Stevie Nicks (what an end!!). Always great to see how much an artist is into it. :rocker:

My parents weren't big music buffs at the time. I had friends turn me on to metal.

My kids get to listen to everything from Classic rock to metal.
