I've been meaning to read that series as well. I read Good Omens, loved it! I'll have to try that out.

We've been lazy this Christmas weekend, watching a lot of tv, on dvd and online. I got Leverage season one on dvd-- love that show!

A lot of it won't make much sense if you read them in a random order. I got The Monstrous Regiment as a birthday or Christmas present a few years ago and that is at least the twentieth book in the series. Quite a few things from the backstory confused the hell out of me. Start with The Colour of Magic and progress from there.

Well of course, I always think a guitar god like H or Dave Mustaine had to start somewhere. Are there any books you had that you'd recommend to start with?
 
I've been taking band for about 3 years now, so I'm down for music theory. I'll try and start saving up money for the book about guitar.
 
Oh yea, duh. Starting guitar should be a bit easier then, since you can skip over all the theory portions, and get right to playing.
 
The words "I have over indulged" has been used by me once too often over the last week or so!
 
I remember this one time in guitar class, this one kid starting playing the intro riff to Prowler and I said, "hey that's from that Maiden song!" then he goes "no that's from Papa Roach." words can't describe the anger I felt inside.
 
Back at work yesterday. Few people around, most have taken the four days between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve off (by saving their last four vacation days for now). I'm new here (started in September), so I would have to borrow from next year's vacation quota. And I'd rather have those days next year when I know what to do with them.

Wait, wait, wait. Are LooseCannon and Forostar both using pictures of the same guy for their avatar? I mean, I've gotten used to seeing three Seventh Sons of Seventh Sons, five Dave Murrays, ten Bruce Dickinsons and eighteen Steve Harrises on a Maiden forum, but two Montgomeries? Now I'm freaked out! :wtf:
