Let's try and get 1,000,000 replies to this post

I was down the pub last Sunday and in the background they were playing a song that I absolutely hate. Hate with an unbridled passion. It took a few beers and a restful Sunday afternoon to get that song out of my head - and now, thanks to EW's post above, it's back in my head. Banging on the side of my cranium like a door-to-door salesman not taking no for an answer.

That song: Say Hello, Wave Goodbye - Soft bloody Cell.

Amazing.

Yesterday, the entire city was in chaos because there was a cable fire in the most important transport hub. Apparently, the entire eastern half of Berlin and its suburbs were cut off, and the impact was felt in the entire city. It was basically a collapse of public transit. Yet again a complete failure of the S-Bahn train service (yet again, because that thing is so run-down it has been in total chaos for two years now).

Turns out that it was a case of arson, and a leftist group calling itself "The grudge of Eyjafjallajökull" was responsible. They posted a note containing a totally confused reasoning about arms proliferation and nuclear power and waste transport.

While nobody has been hurt as a direct consequence of this act (apparently, there have been several car crashes on the motorways in and around the town due do increased traffic), is this anything other than terrorism?

Transport is something I am worried about a bit more now. The ashcloud (will Maiden take the bus or something?) and now Berlin transport.

Well, I'll come walking if I have to. :)

The ash cloud should not be a problem, I just read that British meteorologists reports the eruption itself is over. If that is correct, the ash cloud should be a goner come the weekend.

I really hope it is, because I'm flying to Greece on Saturday. The 2nd leg of that trip is Oslo-Düsseldorf, and that exact flight was cancelled today. If that happens on Saturday I'm stuck in Oslo Airport, which is a terribly boring place to be.

I don't think they'll go by plane on a continental tour. So the ash cloud is probably not going to be a concern for the show - although, perhaps, for Nush. I hope that's going to be over by then.

As for the transport to Berlin, don't worry. Long-distance trains, especially those coming from the west, are hardly ever affected by problems with the S-Bahn. Even if said transport hub was damaged again (you wouldn't have passed it anyway). As for the gig, I can think of five different ways to get to the venue from my place from the top of my head.

When I'm listening to DT's cover of To Tame A Land, I can't help but think that John Myung must have thought "finally a song where I'm not going to be buried deep in the mix". Of all DT songs since Awake, this cover must be the one in which the bass is most up front.

That means DT wanted to be true to the original artist, which is a good thing.

I haven't listened to that much....

I've been playing AMOLAD a lot at work.

I just wanna say how much I like all of the posters on this forum.

I used to cruise this sport bike forum, but it's devolved into nothing but pics of mostly naked chicks, people calling each other bitch, and bragging about what new junk they put on their bikes.

This place, here, has a respectful group that has a wide variety of interests and topics.

Good job!!

Not only do we have great posters here, but we also have a great moderating team to keep us all in line. :) My hat goes off to them for doing such an amazing job! :)

I can now announce it officially. I officially received the promotion I applied for a month ago. With a huge raise. I've now nearly tripled my income in the last two months with this move.
