A building near my house went up in flames. A friend of my mom's ended up at the hospital because the fire sent her into a shaking panic. I couldn't see the other side of the street, smoke, people, cops and firemen everywhere. Yeah, a nice twist to an otherwise uneventful evening  :ninja:

What to do after starting your day in the gym, being exposed to crappy hit music for one and a half hour?

Yes - when one gets back to the office, put on your headphones and turn up the Piece of Mind album as loud as you please  :edmetal:

I hope everyone is OK.

Thanks for your concern. Looks like nobody sustained any physical damage. The whole place is destroyed and looks like the owner had no insurance (the building housed the headquarters of a local TV channel) so he's lost a lot of money but apparently that's all.

@Foro: Should you be reading this, I've been keeping an eye on the cricket today - the Dutch are playing England. The Dutch got 292-6 which is a massive score for England to claw back. Don't be too surprised if the Dutch are victorious today.

Whenever I do cardio I take my mp3 player (as today), but my new earphones won't stay in: so frustrating! Gym music is seriously shit isn't it? Once I had to listen to the same song on repeat for about half an hour.

It is really shit. The worst is that at this gym (which belongs to the campus, btw) they usually have the radio on - tuned into a channel playing "non-stop hit music". You can decide where to put an extra s in that sentence. The same 15-20 songs over and over, and the most annoying program hosts you can imagine.

Last year, it wasn't half as bad, since sometimes the radio would be in another station, playing a varied mix of music (including a lot of rock/hard rock and even a little metal). I think it depends on who is on watch in the reception ...he/she gets to control the radio/music.

A Dance music CD, I don't like but I can understand why it's played. A radio station? Absurd. They had the radio on once at my gym, and in the middle of my session there was a 15 minute news bulletin! Not really the thing to energise you into that extra rep. etc.

Now the radio stations they tune in to are exclusively music stations, thus no commercial breaks or news.

Still, I'd prefer the news to most of that bloody awful music.

I just listened to Beckett's Life's Shadow song (Cause I kept hearing that Maiden have made Hallowed and Nomad from that song)

I don't want to discuss that here, I just want to say that what an amazing song it is! I`m gonna listen to the whole 1974's Beckett album now!  :shred:

Not sure if Foro watched the cricket (or highlights of) but the Dutch ran us close.

I've been a bit busy lately. I got some catching up to do on here! :)
I thought you fell off the planet or something.
Oh, and you need to upgrade to pro today.

Woke up a bit earlier today. Gonna go sign the contract for that army course, then go eat breakfast with my dad and do some stuff until the cleaning lady leaves.

I got myself a pretty good deal here.

It was. Took a while, but I finally signed the contracts, I'm in. Breakfast was nice, and I got to listen to some great music, per usual, along the way. Plus my little brother got to play the PS3 for a bit while I was gone, so the day started off pretty well.

So, on Thursday night at 2 AM, I had completed the very first raw version of the first draft of my BA thesis. It was still 2000 words too short, but I'm confident I can get those in somehow, with extensive footnotes, elaborate descriptions etc. I'm even thinking about adding an extra chapter which might take up one or two pages sans footnotes.

I actually thought I would get it done by Sunday. Then, I fell flat on my nose and lay ill in bed until today. I still have hope I'll meet my deadline of 28. February (at least for a close-to-final-draft), but that was just uncalled for. Somebody out there is doing their utmost to stop me.
