FUCKING FUCK VEVO
them and all those other big companies taking over youtube.

Powert metal is so tiring. Always with the tremolo picking, always with the hundreds of layers of vocals making it sound like the entire city is singing along.

I really want to get into it, but I'm literally exhausted after 2 songs.

I haven't listened to too much Power Metal but Metal: A Headbangers Journey list Dio as power metal. From what I understand Power Metal is more about the lyrical content. So that would make Dio power metal wouldn't it? I like Dio. Therefore I like Power Metal.

If A=B
And B=C
Doesn't A=C?

Depends what bands. Early power metal doesn't do the "thousand voice" chorus. In fact, the only band to really employ this constantly is Blind Guardian and even they didn't do it in their early days.

And yes Knife Master, 80's solo career Dio can be considered Power Metal.

It's rare that I can answer to a post with just a single word, but this is one of those cases:

NO.

You're wrong. If A = B and B = C, then A = C. Always. That's in the definition of =.

The thing here is that A (Dio) doesn't equal B (Power metal), but is just one example of B. You could say A is an element in B, but A isn't the whole B. Thus one can like Dio without liking all Power Metal - but if you like Dio and Dio is power metal, you like power metal. Some of it.

If A = B, and B = C, than A = STFU!

For this to be true, we must require that C = STFU.

But then A isn't equal to B.

This was referring to "Dio isn't Power Metal". The Knife Master's logic was that since he saw Dio as power metal, and he likes Dio, he also likes power metal. The A = B refers to the assumption "Dio is power metal" - and if you mean that Dio isn't power metal, then A isn't equal to B. Fair enough. That argument should be between you and The Knife Master.

I'm just commenting on the logic, for the fun of it. Some people say I'm a bit nerdish.

You do know that equality logic is one of the most basic forms of logic right? It's not really funny to go on about that.

Now, Venn diagrams! They're fucking hillarious.

Well, when you actually go against the equality logic you risk that someone who is picky about such stuff (i.e. me) will point it out to you  :P

Like when saying that A= B and B = C doesn't imply that A = C ... instead of attacking the statement that A = B in the first place.

I find the name "Venn diagram" funny, because "venn" is the Norwegian word for "friend". For some time I thought it was called "Friend diagram" in English, and that "Venn diagram" was a translation  :D

I went against Dio being power metal, I thought it was obvious.

Well, the most prominent question in the post you replied to was "If A=B and B=C, doesn't A=C?", and you answered a loud and clear NO. I took it for granted your NO was a reply to the question. I see now that there is another question in there ("So that would make Dio power metal, wouldn't it?" - and I understand now that that was the question your NO was directed at.

My bad there - although it could've been more clear what you were saying NO to. But never mind.

OK.

Now for something completely different:

No escape, remorseless shrapnel rains
Drowning men, no chance for a warrior's death
A choking death, ENTER HELL'S GATES!
