Started teaching myself Java as a part of getting ready for that course in the army: so far so good. Nothing too complex of course, just some basic explanation of algorithms and basic use of the java environment, but I feel pretty good about it so far.
A 2-part school book I got from my cousin. It's pretty good I think, I don't have any problem getting it.
Maybe after I'm done I'll move on to C++, but let's see how I deal with this one first.
I was in the computer class for the first 6 months of my 10th year, we learned C++. I quit because I had way to much pressure from physics, plus the teacher was a douche.
Point being I know just a enough so that Java makes some sense. If you have some spare time it would be cool to try it out.
Network Admin? Yeah, It seems to be a good career choice. When I did my A+ cert classes I was thinking that the PC repair bit was pretty good, but in the job I have now, working with the network is a far larger part of what we do... or maybe I should say its an integration of fixing pc's and how they work within the network. Still, I'm playing catch-up a lot, learning the ins and outs of networking.
I have. Four years ago, in January 2007, I stopped shaving. I let my beard grow until early June, when I finished my master degree in chemical engineering.
Goddamn, I do NOT want to go to work tomorrow.
Fuck it, 3 weeks and I'm out. For real this time! Gonna take the last month and a bit of my childhood off.
