In a discussion with some pretentious douche whether there is such a thing as an objectively good film. I think that film is an art, and as such there's no universal truth and no scale to use when analyzing a film.

Hmm. Interesting idea.

I think there are landmark films from a cinematic point of view. But taste is completely subjective.

Sure. But even then, a film that gets this description only gets it because it has some charachtaristics that a bunch of people agreed are what makes a good film before, which might as well have been other stuff completely.

BTW it's not like I say that landmark movies aren't good, it's just that I think that everything that's not science is a matter of taste.

For example, I don't like The Godfather. Nothing about it, and nothing about camera angles or directing (that I don't agree with at all) will change my mind.

I'm agreeing with you. Like, Citizen Kane. A great sort of movie cinematically. For me, a bore.

Star Wars is another landmark film. Not everyone likes it, but it changed everything.

As a "casual" Star Wars fan (I'm not totally geeky about it, but I love the movies), it does surprise me that I never actually saw the movies until 1990.

I only say the first one in 1995. Granted I was 3, but it's no excuse!

I'm like you albie. I wish I was a hardcore fan though. All the books and comics seem so interesting.

A quote I just came over, from the Norwegian writer and politician Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson:

"In politics, the truth has to wait until someone needs it"

Yes and no... Time it's relevant in its awesomeness.

So if we take a period of -for instance- 4 years and 25 days, the total time of loggin into a certain reality could be 37 days, 13 hours and 41 minutes.
In the same way, the time until someone searches the truth should be the 'absolute' calender time or the time he was logged in into himself??
In other words, during a lifetime how many days /months one did really live??
Which of the two art the real time?? Which one thou choose??

I have a blackberry--- but up until my new job, all my time here was spent on my laptop.

I'm finally starting to get a little more time 'online' vs the phone.

Nice pic!  I'm going to a casino with some friends tonight-- I expect some fun under a full moon!

Yeah, I shot it seconds before post it, a kind of a live coverage of an almost full moon...
