You say 1 tape can back up 1.6TB. So, just get a bunch of 2TB HD's.
As I said, and for the reasons Wasted gave, that solution is just not practical. For example, we back up everything daily and these tapes are kept as is for at least 2 weeks - and we will have 12 sets of these. We back up everything on a weekend and keep these tapes for at least 4 weeks (4 more sets of tapes) and if it is a monthly back up, it's kept for 12 months (12 more sets of tapes). Yearly backups are kept indefinitely - so a bank of 2TB HDD's is out of the question. It's normal practice for every company/organisation/govt. agency/govt. dept./banks/etc. to back up to tapes - and I would bet most of them will be using LTO4.

I actually loved that song along with MC Hammer's Can't Touch This even though I was 16 and VERY much into Maiden and metal. And C&C Music Factory's Everybody Dance Now. I sort of still enjoy those for nostalgia sake.
'Everybody Dance Now' was my guilty pleasure as well.  Can't relate to the two rap songs though.

That sucks.  Too much drama, not enough who dunit?  Thats why I always enjoy the older seasons of House-- the first 3-4 were really good.

Yeah, I wish they could have found a different way to let him leave the show.  Hell, after a year, he's done in DC and back to the acting world.

But, yeah, it was so out of the blue, with no purpose to it.

So I'm listening to my downloaded copy of framing armageddon, and it turns out every 2 minutes Jon Schaffer comes up and says this is a promotional copy. What the fuck Jon.

I'm totallynotgoing to buy the album now!

Yeah, House was awesome in the first 3 seasons. After that it all went downhill, with the original cast returning for a bit being the best part.

I'm fucked without earphones cause I lost mine. Damn, I have such bad luck with earphones.

Ah yes I see. Are the tapes like old cassette and VHS tapes where they have an actual string of tape running through them? What if they get eaten by the machine? Then you're fucked

This workday is over. I will not bring my laptop with me home today. Instead, I will spend the evening watching House and playing guitar.

When I first glanced at this I thought I saw "I spend the evening playing house". ::)
