It's only really Man U fans that are spread about all over the place. You do get the odd Liverpool fan around here, but 95% of teams supported in my neck of the woods are London clubs - or Man U. And with Man U it has always been the case that they have always had supporters up and down the country. Where I live is only a few minutes drive from either Spurs or West Ham (West Ham being nearer) so the bulk of these 95% will be a supporter of one of those two clubs. The rest will mainly be Man U/Chelsea/Arsenal. About 5% of that 95% will be Charlton or something like that.

And you are very, very unlikely to find a Chelsea or Arsenal fan outside of the home counties/London.

So you mean Man Utd had fans all around England also before the success under Ferguson started? I'd like to hear an unbiased opinion on how United became that big outside of Manchester (even during the years when Liverpool dominated everything).

Actually, among the Norwegian followers of English football, United were always one of the more popular clubs as well, despite English football becoming popular in Norway in an era where United's success under Busby was already years into the past.

Actually I think by 1990 the MUSCSB was the largest Scandinavian supporter's club for any English club.

mmmmmmm Opeth. [/homer] I was listening to Epica yesterday and Today for some fucking reason I have the Outfield's "Your Love" stuck in my head.... Fuck you VH1!

The Outfiled?  I listen to one of their hits every now and then.

...though, now I'm in the mood for 'Turn Up The Radio'.... Autograph!

I think it is because they are always regarded as a bit of a fashionable club - and generally they had some element of success even during Liverpool's dominance (albeit in the FA Cup). It's a long, long standing joke about how so many of Man U fans are mainly Londoners, but I guess it may have got a lot more exaggerated and a lot more pronounced since Fergie made the club a lot more successful than it ever was.

It's also the same in Ireland - there are two teams to support: Man U or anyone but Man U. However, I can't verify how long the Irish have been massively supporting Man U.

For example the FA Cup Final in '77 when Liverpool had already won the league and chased the Treble. But thanks to their friends from 40 miles up the river, it wasn't to be  :D

I think, that in the grand scheme of things, I aam gonna die.... eventually.  I'll make sure to have my boots on.

Speaking of chronology... it comes from Kronos... Titan, father of the gods. Do "gonorrhea" and "diarrhea" come from his wife Rhea?

I have been occupied by it for the last 3 years, I have to finish next year ... it is frightening. I will eventually have to grow up  :help:

:ok:

I'm hope I will be able to do it in one year, but I kind of doubt it.

I might have asked before. What are you doing it in, and what's it on?

Chemical Engineering ...  my topic is "Optimal operation of LNG processes" and LNG stands for liquefaction of natural gas. Currently I'm writing a paper for a conference in Greece next summer  :D

That's my goal. Hope to hand in my thesis by the end of July, then take August off before hopefully starting in a permanent job in September. The day I submit the thesis I'll dedicate an hour to listen to different versions of

Doctor Doctor  :P

I suggest you add some Dr. Love, Doctor Rockter and maybe Rock 'n' Roll Doctor to that. Avoid Dr. Feelgood like rape, though.
