My fucking interweb is down. Again. "Sir, it should be working"
Me: "yes, but its not"
"Well, it says that its up"
Me: I have four computers hooked directly to your modem, none of them can get online-and this is after you said that the net was back up"
"It shows you are connected"
Me: "I have nothing loading in my browser"
"Hmmm...oh, yeah, I guess it isn't working. We should have someone out there by noon on Friday. Is there anything else I can do"
Me: "you do my internet and it isn't working, is there anything else you can do?"
"Um, no?"
Me: "ok, thanks"

So, I surf w my blackberry.

The fucking interweb is a scam where I live. To get it, I HAVE to have a phone line (which no one uses) @ $50 a month, THEN I have to pay another $50 a month for 3Mb speed which only has to produce 2.6 to pass, and often drops to 1.6. And has been out 4 times in the last 6 weeks.

Frontier Communications. A bigger group of cockbites you will never meet. And I live less than a mile out of cable reach, and just out of the line-of-site wireless around. Cellular cards are a joke here...so m stuck.

Not likely.  They quit expanding a few years, because they have to bridge a small river, and there aren't enough houses here to pay for all of it. I'm just gonna hafta move!

:D

I feel with you though. I used to live in a place that was just out of WLAN reach myself for 12 years (although that was just when WLAN was introduced, so that statement may be accurate for maybe 6 years at best). There was absolutely no way of getting it.

Internet sucks.
I've been kicking and screaming for the past month on some random executive and I can't get my problems fixed no matter what. And the problems are from way earlier. The internet just disconnects every hour or so for several seconds, fucking up my downloads and what not.

And of course my parents yell at me for it.

I haven't had any problems with my current ISP, that's last three years. Cable, runs great. I explicitly asked them for cable modem, not some crappy router / access point. Just a modem. One network blackout lasting for 8 hours, but that was scheduled due to upgrades and maintenance.

In that three years they've increased my speed by 8 times, with no additional charge.

Currently we're ending the process of shutting down analog TV broadcasts and going digital. Another thing why i think that coax. cable is the way to go.
With IPTV or DVB-T or Sat or anything alike, you need to have one receiver per TV. That's one extra remote controller, one more hassle.
With cable, you get internet (external IP), telephony (internal VoIP IP), analog TV signal, digital TV signal, and radio signal. If you get a new TV for a new room, just pull the cable there, plug in, and it's done. If the TV has a digital tuner, it'll pull digital, if not, it'll pull analog.

One cable, all included. Simple and efficient.

Ah, good.  I am still looking for someone to swing my Ban Hammer at.

I am thinking that I need a suggestion/poll to name Wasted's Ban Hammer.

...since Mjolnir is taken...

How about something simple, which is also a play on words with both your own nickname and 'Arry's favourite football club?

The Waste Hammer.

Or you could call it Eddie.
