Yeah, that could be right.  I kinda get lost sometimes.  Actually, that must be right, cause it was the same summer that I went to Chitown for SBIT. Sheesh, how the time flys!! Tho, that means that I didn't do a damn thing last summer. :(

You should check out your local clubs for some hardcore metal shows. Even if you've never heard of the bands, for $20 or so, it's a great way to discover new music. Wasted, where are you from?

I live in West Central Illinois, in what we call the 'tri-state area' where IL, IA, and MO come together.  About 2.5 hours north of St Louis, right on the Mississippi.  There really aren't any local clubs for me, most of the local bands are just cover bands.  Now, when I've been to KC, and Chitown, there have been some clubs to hang out in!

Thanks for the link!  I haven't clicked there yet, but I will check it out.

When I had the time (with out kids being so much an issue) I used to follow some bands down in KC.

No, they're national acts. In Flames are from Sweden and Dimmu Borgir are from Norway. The others including Mushroomhead are from the USA, but they tour nationally and have a pretty good following.

These days, I'm more of a stay at the back with a drink in my hand.  My mullett days and head banging are falling behind me.... ok, maybe just mullett, I love to head bang!!

Amen. There was a time when I became used to the feeling, but now, I don't do it as much.

In other news, I have to say that 'Starblind' is, as of right now, my fav new song.

Great song for sure, but The Talisman is my personal fav.

I am learning to respect The Talisman.  I love the story, the way he fought against the worst that Mother Nature could throw, and finally made it to that foreign shore, only to die at the hands of disease.  (my interpretation)  Great lyrics, great story.  But the 'feel' of Starblind is the best mesh of SSOASS and the recent stuff.  I love the music, the lyrics, the feel of the whole thing.

Talisman is my favorite mainly because of Bruce's vocal performance and all the different vocal parts he has. Every one of the is SO AMAZING. For me, music and vocals are more important than lyrics. It'll be interesting to see what parts Bruce messes up on when they do some of these songs live since they do very little repeating. Hell, he even messed up on NOTB on the recent tour at the Phoenix show. On the 1st chorus he sang: "666 TNOTB. 666 The one for you and me".
