A note on FTGGOG:
I love the song myself, as I repeatedly told. I loved listening to it live as well. It was a great atmosphere (especially thanks to the cymbal Nicko used at the intro-- I am in love with this dark sound).

As was the case in the earlier concerts of the tour, it got less reaction in Italy as well... I mean, compared to the other songs. But my impression was not that people don't enjoy it: it was rather that FTGGOG is not a very easy piece to crowdsing. It is not easy to hit the notes correctly and at the same time loudly while saying "for the greater good of god", or "please tell me now what love is". Absolutely not like the energy of saying "freedom", "two minutes to midnight", or "your time will come". On the contrary, FTGGOG lines are long and they require some ups and downs.

I think this is primarily the reason for Bruce giving the floor to us but not always having a loud feedback. Most people were eventually whispering the song in Firenze.

I'm sad for you. The more I listen to it, the more I love it. Possibly my favorite Steve-only epic of the reunion.
Yup, FTGGOG and WTWWB are the best post-reunion Steve epics IMO.

If you think FTGGOG's chorus is boring and repetative, you should listen to No More Lies (x48)...

I hate the chorus of No More Lies with passion. The rest of the song is good, but the chorus ruins it for me.

Still don't know why they played it in 2010 instead of Rainmaker, which is far superior song IMO.

don't know why they kept swapping out songs from that album period.... should have played Paschendale at all shows

IMO, "Rainmaker" should be played at every show. It's short, uplifting, and a great breather between epics. One of their best short rockers which, I think, would work on every setting. Kinda like a "Wrathchild" type of song - except "Rainmaker" is far superior.

Forget No More Lies and go listen to Don't Look to the Eyes of a Stranger. I swear those words entirely lose their meaning after the 80th or so time Blaze sings "don't look to". VXI was lousy about the repetition to a degree no other Maiden album really managed.

Funny. I think "Don't Look To the Eyes of a Stranger" is one of the songs where the repetition actually works.

While I like Rainmaker - it has some very cool stuff in it - I find it lacking in dynamics. Or variation, if you prefer that word. For example, all the parts have about the same vocal melody. It manages to get tedious for me, because of this, and not very impactful. That said, intro riff and solo + harmony lead part after it are excellent.
