Steve always said that the light show does not allow them to play around with the set list. However it is easy for them to drop songs mid tour. So this tells me that the light show is not programmed as a whole solid piece. Why don't they just prepare the lights for more songs then?It should be fairly easy to play around then. Metallica do it all the time. It should not be that difficult.

If I'm not terribly mistaken, they had lights for Infinite Dreams and Hallowed programmed for Maiden England tour. I might be wrong, but if I recall correctly, there was a picture of the list near the light control desk (or whatever that thing is) around IMFC Forum or somewhere..

Anyway, I suppose it's techically possible. Not sure if they really want to use that advantage though.

Yup, FTGGOG and WTWWB are the best post-reunion Steve epics IMO.

If you think FTGGOG's chorus is boring and repetative, you should listen to No More Lies (x48)...

I quite like No More Lies - it has a fantastic melody and great solos ! The repetition of the chorus works very well in this song.

I also like Don't Look To The Eyes Of A Stranger - I can stand the repetition.... but in TAATG the repetition is the worst (if the song was 4 minutes, like it was on the official video of it, then it would have been a better single and song)

I will also add to the best post-reunion Steve epics - Dream Of Mirrors - yeah, Janick also have a songwriting credit on it, but that song is amazing: the acoustic guitar, the melody, the tempo.... I wait for that song to be played live again, since Rock In Rio 2001 :D

It sucks anyway!

Fair enough. I just don't get how can it be that the same people like complex, inspired and melodic Maiden songs e,g Infinite Dreams and then also appreciate one tempo, overly repetitive overly long songs by the same band. I mean when Maiden were full of ideas they did 7 minute songs and over the last 20 years they just repeat the same idea over and over until they get to 9 minutes long. This sounds pointless to me. And since I know that I am making a lot of people tired with my perception of the new music....I promise I'll never go into it again.

I do agree with you about the length of songs. It's a point I've raised several times on this forum. I still struggle with 'The Final Frontier' due to the lengths of most of the songs, and 'The Red and the Black' and 'Empire of the Clouds' are very guilty of dragging on and on. 'The Legacy', while pushing ten minutes, has three distinct parts which is far more interesting to listen to than some other songs of similar length.

Yep, TRATB is just too much in many levels and unfortunately not in a good way. I also agree about EOTC. Amazing melodies , lyrics and music parts but again the repetition is out of this world( especially on the "guitar exercises" melodies in the middle.
