Legacy of the Beast 2018 Tour

I don’t like Maiden songs that only feature 1 solo by Janick. You have a band with Adrian Smith and Dave Murray in it, and you don’t use them? It’s a sea of madness.
So if the song is great and Janicks solo is great you still don't like the song because it doesn't have Adrian or Dave soloing?

Your post from a a few pages ago:

On official maiden forum, there are rumours (technical man of band said), that they are going to play paschendale, ftggog, clansman and die with your boots on. Classics like 2mtm, rtth, trooper, im, fear, wickerman, tetmd and FLIGHT OF ICARUS. And there are predictions about one song from tbos - I think that will be death or glory, and they think about ghost of navigator, bring your daughter, heaven can wait.
All of songs match with poster of tour. When we sum duration of songs it equal 100-104 minutes with bruce speech, intro, some gap there will be 110 minutes - standard.
Is this setlist?

If band's technician said that, he would be fired.

And now, according to you, Maiden is rehearsing in a venue (not a rehearsal studio), in the dead centre of Liverpool, 3-4 weeks before they usually start rehearsing, playing a set that is completely different from what you said before and the most represented album on it is TBOS (tied with TNOTB ), around which was based the previous tour.

Everybody can make a setlist on setlist.fm . I can make one now, if you want.

Stop spawning bullshit.

Of course - that was fake. They will start rehersal in florida or guillaume tell in paris.

They are recording each of their shows since early 2000s when their front of house went full digital. Cameras are hooked to video director desk, who's mixing them in real time, the single output frame is copied twice - one copy to the venue screen and one to the hard drive. Simple as that. Same with sound, the typical mix board will have a firewire or something else used to "dump" the each sound channel to the computer at once as separate track. Both of these operations are seamless, and the interesting thing is that expensive gear has analytic modes and tools that actually snapshot and dump the complete state of the machine, to the computer, in real time. From this (vast) amount of data you would be able to pull each bit of sound or video that ever came through.

Edit on this for clarity : they're just recording outputs to hard drives, the latter example was put there to depict how much new possibilities for live bands this "new" digital equipment brought. Imagine all the tape decks and big boxes with locomotive knobs and stuff used to record Live After Death

Keep in mind that festivals are not their shows so some agreement on how to share the equipment, staff, and legal rights, are bound to be in the contract.

It's just a sad waste.
They're not "wasting" anything. There are just songs which fit each guitarist's style better than others, that's all. The songs in which only Janick has a solo are usually co-written by him, and therefore have a very distinctive sound that only his playing style would fit.

Thought it could be fun so here's my setlist prediction.

1- alexander
2- 2 minutes to midnight
3- flight of icarus
4- wasted years
5- trooper
6- ghost of the navigator
7- rime of the ancient mariner/clansman
8- run to the hills
9- evil that men do
10- benjamin Breeg
11- fear of the dark
12- iron maiden
13- number of the beast
14- heaven can wait
15- hallowed be thy name

I have had feeling also that Alexader will be the opener. Based on what Bruce said that nobody would want to miss the BEGINNING of the show, and they really must do something special for this tour. Also there will be "social media madness" after the first show. Think about it, the slow part played on tape as intro, then all hell breaks loose! Would be great.

It's because of the slow intro that I imagine them play it first too. They can't play that slow part somewhere else in the show, it just doesn't fit anywhere (Instead first encore music but, that would be ten times less powerful for everyone). And Bruce needs a perfect voice to sing it.

I don't think it'll happen.

Back in the day, nobody thought Metallica would ever play Dyer's Eve.
I'm listening Maiden since 2007 and I was ultra pessimist until today to be super honest. But nowI'm sure it's the time, this feeling won't leave me until the first show.

I have been thinking why would Bruce point out the beginning of the show? Light show? Always great. Aces High? Been done, nothing special. Be Quick or Be Dead is possible. If Nicko has really said they are gonna play Where Eagles Dare, I don't think it will be the opener.

Apparently in NAMM 2018 he has said that they are going to do
Where Eagles Dare and Flight of Icarus.
I believe its real because hmmm .... Nicko and his big mouth.:applause:

But if it is the opener, the band (or just Bruce) could arrive to the stage with a cable car; it would definitely deserve to be pointed out.

More seriously, I guess we'll see some cool props and effects right in the beginnig. A big wicker man prop, a kind of improved version of the BNW tour Eddie would be pretty cool to see, if they'll open with The Wicker Man. And if they'll end up opening with Aces High or Where Eagles Date, there might be a lot going on too.

But um. Have I missed something... Where has Bruce pointed out the beginnig of the show?
