Judas Priest tour announcement coming next month

Was expecting something very far more stunning, but 5th, 7th, 13th songs are killers!!! The 14th should be interesting live.
Watching the videos, I can understand why K.K. Downing didn't want to go ahead with this tour: 1) Rob Halford just can't sing anymore and 2) the project was a far cry from what was announced as a dusting off old gems from all their career, mainly due to the first reason.

Some footage from youtube:
Intro and Rapid Fire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Okm0RsChjQ
Painkiller: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3iWypIxsx4 :O With lasers! It's so rare to see those at metal shows and it looks AWESOME!
The Green Manalishi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfPTz0ZzvPU

Hopefully Blood Red Skies and Night Crawler shoe up as well.
I've never seen Lasers at a show. But I think I heard somewhere that they were used by a band at the ozzfest I saw. I only saw the last 3 bands so I wouldn't know.

BLOOD RED SKIES OMG OMG

Like many of you, I want this chance to see Priest live for the only time. Blood Red Skies is my favourite priest song :D 4th favourite all-time.

Wow I never knew people liked it that much. It's a great song, but I don't see it as my favorite.

Yeah, I know most people don't like it nearly as much as me, I just love it for some reason.
YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVEEEEEE is one of my favourite musical moments! :D

That part is really cool and I look forward to seeing if Rob can still belt it out, but it's got nothing on "then down in falls comes the RAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNN!"

The winning thing for Rime is that it has a great musical buildup under it where BRS has the same fake drums and synth based guitar riff.

So, I have been checking youtube vids.

And I can tell ya, Rob is sounding quite good - And this is the first show of the thour. Can't wait until the American leg - He's bound to sound even better by then.  I hope they film it and release it on DVD.

Broke down, peeked at the set list.
Calling the ticket centre when I get home from work

Blood Red Skies sounded rather good - Save for the clean high notes in the intro. He strains too much - It sounds like karaoke. Except from that, it sounds good.

After watching that video of Painkiller, I have to wonder, why does Rob sing it like that? Am I the only one who thinks that it is an awful way to sing the song?

Yea they both sound bad. Sometimes it makes me wish they just wouldn't play it. But it still is my favorite Priest song...

Just watched some live footage from the 90's. That song has always sounded bad live. :(

That's because Rob always overdubs his vocals. For example, here...

Faster than a lazer bullet
Louder than an atom bomb
Chromium plated boiling metal
Brighter than a thousand suns

...there are layers of high screaming and normal singing, so it never sounds like the studio version.

His "clones" Ralf Scheepers and Tim "Ripper" Owens also do that a lot.

Sounds rather good here :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0XP5c4xuc4 as well as on the Crucible World Tour DVD - And Painkiller sounded good during the 2004 reunion tour too. Check out Sweden Rock.

I opened this video in new tab, and forgot about it. I was listening to Evil Fantasies, and I thought "WTF is happening to drums?". Then I realise that the drum intro to Painkiller is playing in the background :D
