Iron Maiden video interviews / shows

What was this released on? I've never seen this its awesome!! Running free Live Hammersmith 82

That's from the bonus DVD that came with the limited edition of the album.

I don't know if anyone posted this one before. Maybe not, since it's in Spanish.

This is about the cancelled show in Chile scheduled to the 23 July 1992, back in the Fear of the Dark tour.

It's quite incredible the reasons that are given: Maiden were clearly a "satanic act", and they were against the moral values of the country. The news presenter, the Church and the political right-wing made this almost a national statement.

Hopefully now completely gone...

Well, there's a user on YouTube, called IMbootlegs and he has posted (a.o. stuff) a shitload of TV-interviews, too many to link all here (I'll do a few and maybe some more later).

Here's his account -> http://www.youtube.com/user/IMbootlegs

Enjoy, there's a lot of old stuff, even from the Di'Anno era! :)

I found interviews from
- Earls Court 2000
- Sheffield 1993
- Germany, RTL 1988 (Nice! A walk in beautiful snowy surroundings while talking about SSOASS, ending in a snowball fight)
- On Australian TV, filmed in Cologne 1988 + pt 2 The band explains that SSOASS is a concept album! So remember that! ;)
Check it out, this is an interesting interview. Also about the use of keyboards. I think I'll send it to Ma.v, (the owner of the Iron Maiden Commentary). :)

- Cologne 1984 (in German)
- Headbangers Ball 1988 (about Black Bart Blues)
- Stockholm 1986
- Oslo 1986 (Bruce answers a question about the term violence)
- Copenhagen 1984 (Bruce kinda agitated because he got a question about what he drinks)
- MTV 1987
- Donington 1988 (MTV)
- French TV 1992
- Australia 1982
- Australia 1985 (never seen such a calm =TIRED Nicko!)
- From LA to Eternity (French Tourreport 1992)
- Toronto 1981 +pt. 2 (this one I find quite special, because this is in Maiden's first month away from the European continent)
- Sweden 1992
- Toronto 1984 Bruce about their visit in Eastern Europe and his interest in military topics.
- Entertainment USA 1987 (BBC2)
- Montreal 1988: A short TV special done for Much Music Power Hour on 17 May 1988 in Montreal. Bruce is making himself a complete nut - funny!
- Steve Harris interviewed on German TV, June 1987
- Metal Hammer Awards 1986
- Holland 1986 (Funny. Besides, Bruce also talks a bit about the recording of SIT)
- Here you see Iron Maiden playbacking Wasted Years in the same program (Countdown)
- Bremen 1990 (this one is cool, and the only report I have seen with whole the band apart from Bruce! About songwriting of NPFTD and the enter of Janick / Dave's collection of guitars / Steve about the loyal following / Nicko shows his kit / Steve's direction of Maiden England)
- Hammersmith 1984 (good interview, also nice contributions of fans, waiting outside the building)
- Montreal 1984
- Montreal 1982
- Steve at Kerrang! 100th Party 1985
- SkyChannel 1987
- Tiswas 1982 (English children show)
- Check this out: Iron Maiden at Belgian TV show called Generation 80 doing some playback (Run To The Hills and Killers). Recorded in Brussels, probably 18 April 1982, and broadcasted on RTBF. Nicko's on drums (wearing an Eddie mask hehe) as a replacement for Clive. -> link
- This one is excellent (and crazy!): Bruce selling LAD-LP's on the streets of New York, because he needs money to get back to England. 1985.

This one's freaky, straight out the 80's. It's actually a very positive report about Maiden, highlighting the lyrics of Two Minutes to Midnight explaining that it is an anti-war song, and talking to Bruce about it a bit. They also show that fans understand what it's about.
But it's also scary to see what 80's German youth slang was like... *shudder*

I liked the part where Bruce went through the first songs. He sort of confirmed that Moonchild, Infinite Dreams and Can I Play With Madness? is all about the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. The commentary speculates that it's about the father.

I never thought Bruce was such a character. I mean, dressed as Lord Iffy in a tv show ?!!

He was more entertainer than i suppose he was.

The clip features minute of Powerslave, also from New York. It looks like the whole show was recorded with whole arsenal of cameras. I'd love to get my hands on this bootleg!

Brilliant stuff, Forostar & Zare!

I'm watching HBTN from NYC, Bruce's performance is above average, it looks like this is the first few times he sang HBTN since he returned to the band, he really enjoys it. And look at Adrian and his black Jackson :D Brilliant gig, I wish I could have witnessed that tour!

 This makes it the version!

*You mean with DiAnno in vocals, or generally?

Anyway, here's another unique moment (which -thanks to internet - I saw it first time today)

Maiden killing Eddie, Dortmund, 1983 --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEf26IkmyFE

Generally. Ow wait, on The Early Days there's a second version.

Man, stop being thousand_suns!  :) This stuff also comes from an official Maiden release.
Though I'm doubting if we've ever seen the complete song. At least the Eddie-killing part can be found on the 12 Wasted Years video (but that's sold out indeed). And apparently a low-quality version of the footage can be found on Disc 2 of the Live After Death DVD.

I edited my previous post. Perhaps this complete version of Iron Maiden is still rare. I am listening too much jazz and Golden Earring lately to remember well.  ;)
