Re: Iron Maiden Survivor: X Factor round 5 (Oct 20-22)

Now that both Phantom of the Opera and Moonchild have got 5 votes each, I think this thread should be moved to the Madness forum. This is insane.

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor: X Factor round 5 (Oct 20-22)

Sign of the Cross and Lord of the Flies.

LotF -- I just don't like the song much.
SotC -- I love this song, but Phantom, Revelations and Aces High are better (to me.) It should have more votes than these songs do, not less. Anyway, this song won't be affected by my vote, so it all works out. This song is brilliant, after all.

Remember these “nice” comments about the albums NPFTD and FOTD?

Can we save everyone some time and just eliminate all of NPFD right now and move on to Fear of the Dark?

What if we get rid of Tailgunner, Enema, Fates, Ass_Ass_In, Hooks, at once ??
The gap with the rest is remarkable, there is a serious evidence that it'll be a waste of time if we won't  :D

That's the thing about Fear of the Dark. It contains some timeless classics, as well as the worst pieces of crap they've ever written  :halo:

Apparently some people find it funny to slag off so called unpopular albums. They probably think it's popular to do it. No problem you’d say? Maybe not, let everyone whine about what he wants.

Still, I notice something weird: Look at the last couple of days. Not a single bad word about VXI. That’s strange. Why is that strange? One glance over the votes is the answer.

It's clear that the worst half of VXI is way less popular than the worst half of No Prayer and the worst half of Fear of the Dark. Look at the amounts of votes for these songs. They are record-breaking, almost unanimous. I bet we won’t see such numbers again:

The Angel And The Gambler: 15(!) votes
Lightning Strikes Twice: 9 votes
When Two Worlds Collide: 10 votes
Don't Look To The Eyes Of A Stranger:11 votes

This is the quickest elimination possible.

But no lousy comments …. where are they now?
I guess some people find that less popular, not cool enough to do that. Why? No clue.
The silence is deafening! <_<

So I thought I had to make at least one lousy comment on the lack of lousy comments because I find this unfitting to the votes that are casted.

It's not politically correct to bash the Blaze albums. :D

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor: Virtual XI round 1 (Oct 22-24)

Maybe it's about time to look with the same pair of eyes at all those relatively unpopular albums (and votes).  ;)

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor: Virtual XI round 1 (Oct 22-24)

That is an interesting ovservation, but I think the answer is obvious: it's not too accepted to bash the Blaze album. I know people won't get attacked for voicing their opinions, but if they flat out insult the album, then people will rush to its defence right away. Think about it; we like to say how ugly the raspy vocals were on Fear of the Dark, but if we start to comment on Blaze's voice...

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor: Virtual XI round 1 (Oct 22-24)

Taboos? F**k 'em. Don't forget: we are no blind sheep, running along with the masses.
We don't have to do what is popular and don't do what is not popular.

It's just stupid to pour the shit over one album when in fact (when you look at the votes) one other is way less popular and that one dies without a single negative comment. That is not only illogical, it creates a wrong image.

:halo: Your wish is my command : VXI is a piece of shit. TXF as well, but smaller piece. Happy ??  ;)

Seriously now, I have a theory about it.
Polls have a power, we can't ignore :  No more theories, no more philosophy. Every 2 days when the polls closes
the result will be sometimes cruel but finally fair. No words are necessary, people will vote, people will decide, period.

I'll tell you one example: Take The Sign Of The Cross. I hate it. Well, less than everything else during Blaze era,
but still I hate it comparing to Revelations, To Tame A Land, Stranger In A Strange Land, SSOASS
and many other great songs that have been eliminated.

During the last TXF round, I knew that people will prefer it to Revelations and some older stuff, I just knew it
by watching how voting people react and behave.
So why to whine ? It won't change anything, Revelations will go down, and Sign Of The Cross will survive for some more rounds.

This does not answer to why we did have some bad words about NPftD & FofD...
But it does answers to why we didn't have during TXF and until here.

Hmmm. Interesting theory  :ok:
