Go to the top of the page and vote for your LEAST favorite songs!
Rules are in first post. Please read them if you don't know what's going on here.

"Winners" of round 4.3: Still Life (9 votes), Remember Tomorrow (8 votes)
Again, I'm eliminating multiple songs because they were far ahead of the pack, and to force the painful choices. <evil grin>
Round 4.4 has now begun.

Eliminated:
11. ?
12. ?
13. Remember Tomorrow
14. Still Life
15 (tie). Flash Of The Blade
15 (tie). Back In The Village
17. The Duellists
18. Losfer Words (Big 'Orra)

Where Eagles Dare, Aces High, The Trooper

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor, series 4: Powerslave round 4 (Sep 8-10)

To tame the land where eagles dare, you need a beast. Its number is six hundred and sixty six. And it starts getting impossible to choose - all these 12 songs areclassics.

I agree 100%! There are no songs left that I do not like

I tried to be as harsh as I could, these three had the biggest ''flaws'' to them...

Where Eagles Dare (repetetive riffing)
The Trooper (annoying ''ohhhh'' parts)
To Tame a Land (dull)

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor, series 4: Powerslave round 4 (Sep 8-10)

Wow... This is going to be tough, but okay.

Phantom - I hate its guts, been voting for it since the beginning and will continue to do so.

Number of the Beast - the weakest song here, overrated, we've eliminated better songs thus far.

Where Eagles Dare - I was conflicted between this one and To Tame A Land, they're both equally silly lyric-wise, but TTAL is much better instrumentally, I love the Asturias theme at the end, so, bye-bye Eagles.

Where Eagles Dare. Oh God, its getting nail-bitingly interesting.

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor, series 4: Powerslave round 4 (Sep 8-10)

Yesterday I played Piece of Mind and I still find Revelations the least entertaining song of all.

Ta da da. Ta da da.  (going on forever).

As soon as I heard the opening tones of Die With Your Boots On I thought "Right, all songs before this one are not as good as this. Piece of Mind seriously has a strong middle fase. If I have to pick the 4 best songs I'd go for (in album order):

Die With Your Boots On, The Trooper, Still Life
(the middle of the album :) )
To Tame a Land

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor, series 4: Powerslave round 4 (Sep 8-10)

Revelations, Trooper, 666...

'come on, drop out.

I wouldn't be surprised if the only songs (out of those remaining now) surviving Piece of Mind, Powerslave, SiT and SSOASS are Phantom of the Opera, Killers, The Number of the Beast and Hallowed Be Thy Name..

I am not sure if Killers & Beast will survive SSOASS. They might not even survive SIT.

Err, it looks like those two songs don’t even survive Powerslave. Children of the Damned has a better chance to meet Somewhere in Time songs, just as it happened on the “Somewhere on Tour.” ;)

I am really curious how the SIT songs will manage in this slaughter. I don't feel much like voting for any of them, apart from perhaps one or two.

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor, series 4: Powerslave round 4 (Sep 8-10)

Revelations.
I can't bring myself to vote for more. How can you kick Eagles out?! :(

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor, series 4: Powerslave round 4 (Sep 8-10)

I notice that there are only 27 votes even though there are 11 voters - so in addition to the two guys above me, who have voted for less than 3, there is someone who has not voted at all - or more people have voted for less than 3. Which brings me to the point; Isn't the idea of the survivor game to force people to eventually vote against songs they actually love? I think the rules should be that you have to vote for 3 songs (or none at all) - this thread is about the agony of choice , isn't it?

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor, series 4: Powerslave round 4 (Sep 8-10)

We can't enforce a rule like that. The forum software doesn't allow it. It only limits the maximum number of votes; it can't force you to use all your votes.

I wouldn't be in favor of a rule like that anyway. Let people vote how they want. It's only an internet poll; let's have some fun with it instead of putting in more rules.

Hm... I can easily throw out at least four or five SIT songs (everything except WY, SOM and SIASL) , SSOASS will pose a far greater challenge for me. :D

I don't want to make things personal, but on at least 4 occasions I have noticed that siebo666 does not vote, when he posts. The problem is, we can't follow it all the time so it's risky to add his votes to the result.
I am afraid we have to accept < 3 votes, and who knows you'll also want to do it in the (near) future as well.

@gulranek: Uhh, didn't you have to go on holiday or something?  :innocent:

Votes should be count automatically anyway -if someone doesn't vote, we don't care for what he declares
