Random thoughts about this...

I think that could work for a band like Maiden where we get plenty of votes. I'm not so sure it would work well in a game with only a few voters.

When I started doing these games, the idea was that picking the best song is often hard, while getting rid of the worst songs is often an easier decision.

It would change strategic voting, for those who engage in such. If you're voting for songs to preserve, then you might want to spend your votes on some B-list tracks to make sure they don't get lost. For instance, Piece of Mind. There would be plenty of Trooper and Revelations voters; I'd vote Boots and QFF because those are the songs I love that would be in the biggest danger. Not because they're the best, but that becomes the strategy if you want your pet favorites to have a chance.

After listening to NOTB a bit, I can definitely say I prefer Killers. NOTB is still a good album but it feels like a step down in some aspects. The guitar and bass playing on Killers is way better, with a lot more memorable solos and lines. I also think some of the songs are stronger and the flow in Killers is stronger.

Of course one major improvement is in the vocal department. Bruce is awesome on this. Although he'd get even better on the next album.
 
Purgatory, Genghis, Transylvania again.
Added Prowler and Total Eclipse. They just can't compete with what's left.

Will most likely be voting for RTTH and/or NOTB after the next set of songs get eliminated. Also, my streak of voting for Purgatory lives on. I have given a vote to that song every single round so far. It seems a lot of people must like that song more than I do!
 
Prisoner's quite good, but I'd say it's in the bottom five of the songs remaining. It was quite hard to vote it and Transylvania.
 
I have owned Killers since 1984 and it took me until very recently to "get" Purgatory (although I have always loved the artwork). It must be kept! I voted out Transylvania, Total Eclipse and Run to the Hills.
 
Like I said, it was hard to vote for Transylvania, but it's among the bottom five there at the moment.
