Quest for Fire is just so silly. The music is alright, but there's nothing likable about the vocals or the lyrics, IMO. And I am a vocal guy, so thus, the song is unlistenable.

Prowler I like quite a bit, actually, but I like the other songs better.

If I may ask, what is your attitude towards songs with instrumental sections? Maiden has quite a lot of them, and some sections are not that short, so I wonder if you have patience with these parts if you are so focused on vocals.
 
Foro, I'm a guitarist. I love instrumentals. Maiden has some of the best. I usually prefer the Maiden songs with long instrumental sections because they are often amazing. You're missing my point. I am in no way stating that I only listen to music for the vocals, but if there are vocals, I prefer them to be good and I prefer the lyrics to not be ridiculous.
 
I like 'Prowler' as well. It's a top 20 song for me and It's certainly not too aggressive for me either! I listen to Sepultura and Gojira as well as Iron Maiden. I like it when Iron Maiden, and other bands, mix things up a bit.
 
I like the high vocals, lyrics are the least important however I admit that Maiden sounds better with more sophisticated lyrics.

Although I'm not a huge fan of Di'Anno, Prowler is one of my favourite songs among the first albums. Listened to Gojira over a long time yesterday and today, some of their songs are pure genius.
 
Quest for Fire is very, very good musically. Vocals are kind of weird, lyrics are silly but still it's not my least favorite off Piece of Mind. That honor(?) goes to Sun and Steel, a musically weaker song with just as bad lyrics.

Total Eclipse, Die With Your Boots On (doesn't do anything for me, I'm afraid), Quest for Fire, Sun and Steel.
 
The hate that Quest For Fire and Sun and Steel get is absolutely ridiculous.
 
I know people dislike Quest for Fire and this has been debated on numerous occasions here.
But I can't understand all those votes for Prowler, honestly. I mean, what more could you ask from a band's first song? I find it ridiculous that Rue Morgue will be in the finals and Prowler will leave here.
 
Well said. Murders in the Rue Morgue, I find it one of the most predictable efforts that Steve has written in the early days. Alright, the intro is stunning and the harmony is pretty neat. But you have to wait a while til that harmony comes. It is a while because I miss hooks, the melodies are relatively :turd:. Prowler is cool all the way, and it gets even better in the o so superb fast part.
 
7 votes for Remember Tomorrow makes me sad :( That song is fantastic. One of Paul's best performances..The Children of The Damned if you will from that album...

I'm glad Killers got promoted though :)
