What do people find so vote-worthy in Quest of Fire? It can't be purely the lyrics. I mean, the intro is very cool, the gallop is original, that pattern is rarely used (and it's not too easy to play either, considering the tempo of the song). The harmony is darn great, especially as the bass starts to play around in the background and the solos I find memorable and very fun to listen/play. Beautiful melodies.
 
'Quest for Fire' is fun but it's not as interesting as nearly every other Iron Maiden song. It's a bit silly and is out of place on 'Piece of Mind', probably fitting in on 'No Prayer for the Dying' better.
 
I love Quest for Fire. It's a great song. It's only that I like Prowler, Phantom of the Opera, Transylvania, Strange World, Children of the Damned, The Prisoner, 22 Acacia Avenue, The Number of the Beast, Hallowed be Thy Name, Where Eagles Dare, Revelations, Die With Your Boots On, The Trooper, Still Life and To Tame a Land better. Tough, isn't it?
 
Quest For Fire's high vocals and melodic character is very different from No Prayer for the Dying. So is its atmosphere. It is not a dull song. It is also interesting for its rather unique rhythm, and its presence gives Piece of Mind more variation instead of without it.

I am still having trouble with believing how unpopular Prowler is within this group of voters.
Do the voters find most things with Bruce and Adrian better? Come on everybody, the first album has more to offer than Phantom of the Opera.

The only song I'm not fond of on POM is Quest. I actually like Sun and Steel a lot. The chorus is pretty catchy. :D

Could have something to do with exposure?
 
Could be. But it's not just that. To Tame a Land was performed less (and longer ago).
My impression is that -knowing some of the voters' musical preferences- I think this song is too aggressive/rough/fast for their tastes.
 
Prowler is good, I like it but I like the other songs better. We're suppose to vote for our least favorites, are we not?

Edit: And there's no way in hell that Prowler is too rough/aggressive for me. That's one of the reasons I do like it.
