Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

British Lion is something that would give Steve a continuing career after Maiden calls it a day. I hate to say it but that time is not far off....

As long as he does not try to write an overlong so-called epic again, I'm fine. EotC did not convince me, and I certainly don't want another attempt in that vein, whatever the instrument.

People have been saying that for 10 years now. Of course they day will come, but it's hopeless speculating when. We know Maiden have plans for the future, and they want to make at least one more studio album.

While I am not blown away by Empire I think theres enough on show for me to want him to strive for the Epic again. Especially if he recycles Janick riffs again...

The first 7 minutes are snooze-worthy, but the next 10 minutes $&#%ing rock. Then the last minute is more zzz.

Eotc and it's 18 or whatever minutes is great because it's not infringing on a normal sized album. It's almost a bonus the way the album is configured . If he goes at it in the future on aregular length offering, that's trouble.
As for the Steve interview, I hear a man with a band, or two, that is going balls out to get more more more-- out there. That interview is comforting. "Cramming in" ... like it. For he knows the time is short........

Never going to happen, but I'd love a big 20 minute epic written by Bruce, Adrian, and Steve. They all complement each other as writers and would balance out some of their more cliche traits.

I guess 2018 will be some European summer tour "greatest hits", maybe a live release as well, plus new Bruce Dickinson solo album/British lion live release and tour, and maybe also something from Adrian.

And recording of a new Maiden album january-april 2019, released in august/september the same year

I beg to differ. I think the song is a masterpiece and the first 7 minutes, telling the story of the R101, are a wonderful build-up to what comes next with the storm and the crash. The coda is wonderful too and we did not get a bass intro and bass outro!

Thank you both. That makes sense. There was this rumour I've been told in Antwerpend that they already had booked the Guillaume Tell studio for this autumn. This was told me by a fan who knows someone who knows someone working in the studio. Can it be trusted ? I don't know.

Recording a new Maiden album this Autumn would be a great move. They are well aware their time is short...

As long as Bruce writes the lyrics and arranges vocal parts. Steve should stick to doing Steve things. Should I tell him that tonight?
