Only a matter of time before Rod gets Dennis to delete the word Paris from that post...

Paris and new album irrelevant. Dennis sues Steve and now they're friends again?

I don’t really see the comparison between the Alex believers and people saying they might be working on an album. We know Maiden are going to be making an album at some point most likely and it makes sense considering the break between tour legs is longer than usual. It’s not that much of a stretch. That being said, I kinda think that whether they’re working on an album now or not, we won’t see it until fall 2020 at the earliest.

However, this:
I think the title of this topic says ...album 17 rumours and speculations. And we are discussing that. And I said, I'm 90% sure that they are recording. Why?

1. Steve said that they will meet in early 2019. Why would they meet up, if they didn't intend to do something? Why would Davey fly from Hawaii to attend a meeting, which he can do online.

2. Why would Bruce only do only 5 book dates, all of them crammed at the end of February to 2nd of March?

3. Why would Adrian, who ALWAYS spends winters (if IM isn't touring) in Malibu, CA return to UK in February?

4. Why would Adrian test pedals in his studio?

5. Why would Adrian and Nicko return/come to London at the same time?

6. Why would Kevin Shirley be in Paris in the middle of the winter, instead in the sunny Australia.

7. Why would Adrian visit Steve in Nassau in the beginning of February?

All things point to IM recording a new album. So, I'm 90% sure it's happening. We are connecting the dots as @Lego said. And almost all of them point into the direction of Maiden recording.

Reads like the long winded posts explaining why they were 90% certainly playing Alexander the Great on the last tour. It looks good that they were in Paris and that Steve said they’d work on stuff this year, but everything else is circumstantial at best.

I guess I don’t see reason for certainty one way or the other.

You guys won't stop this until 2020, when a new album is confirmed, right?
The problem with this logic is that the new album won't be officially announced / confirmed until after it has already been recorded.

So yes, while it is very possible that everyone here may be too hopeful and reading too much into things, and the fact that Kevin, Steve, and the rest of the band are all in or around Paris right now may mean nothing at all, but I honestly think the most likely scenario at this point is the band is in fact recording, or about to record, very soon.

Apples to oranges. There is no precedent of Maiden playing a song that was not included in that album's tour, there is precedent of Iron Maiden recording an album in Paris.

there is precedent of Iron Maiden recording an album in Paris.

But there is no precedent of Maiden recording an album in between two legs of a tour. Food for thought: Is it unexpected for the band members to meet, try out new equipment and so forth before they're embarking on a major scale tour?

In between two legs of a tour, yes. Especially because Maiden are very conservative with their gear.

Fair point. I wonder why they would need to try out new equipment for a tour that they have already done. Historically (1980-2008) tours did not have multiple legs spread out over multiple years. I think rather that this period makes sense to record an album because everyone's schedules lined up. Maybe it's nothing of the sort, but Kevin's denial basically said that yes there are rumors and he's not with Maiden this weekend--leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

It's been 4.5 years since they recorded an album. WE WANT TO BELIEVE!

I agree that there is a lot of circumstantial evidence towards a new Iron Maiden album, but the strongest piece was Kevin being in Paris mysteriously. However, he has since rejected the notion. That really hurts the theory.
Just to have fun - there is always posibility that Rod want to keep this under blanket till announcement.

Just because Rod has come forward and said they're not recording the album means F all, anyone can lie just like that and they especially would if they're trying to keep a big secret under wraps. I'm convinced it's happening

It's also worth noting that one could find

Rod hasn't come forward and said that
