If that's what they want to do to stay motivated then fine. Imagine if it was all Maiden for them like the 80's. We wouldn't have Maiden anymore, they would burn out.

You are correct that if some of the last few albums actually were shite, that would certainly not include A Matter Of Life And Death.

Ah, some of it is decent but some is poor as well.

The fact that Steve has openly said they are getting together early 2019 to discuss the new album could mean anything but the thought is there and depending how many ideas each member brings in its not out of the question to suggest the new album will be complete before the tour starts but most likely held back till the first half of 2020.

I'm not in the unrealistically hopeful camp, but bringing members of Maiden from far and wide to one point just to discuss a new album sounds like overkill. It could coincide with a few trips they wanted to make anyway, I suppose. Early 2019 is too early for tour rehearsals, really.
