Setlist Rehearsals seem more likely IMO. But who knows. I'll assume no one from this forum was at either of those shows to confirm.
Edit: I've been doing some research for the greater part of the night and was unable to find anything from the first two shows. I did however find some stuff on youtube from the third show which is pretty cool. This is a bigger mystery than why they chose not to play ATG!

I have a flexi disc that came free with Metal Hammer around the time of Donington 92 containing an interview with Steve and Bruce I think, it's been a long time since I listened to it. Steve mentions the Fugitive as a potential track that might be in the set. Maybe they rehearsed it and it didn't work out.

I believe it's pretty straight. The guy asked if Adrian had a particular song he wrote and performed. Performance is live and Setlist is a list exclusively used in a live act (set).
So if Adrian said they dropped something from the set, is because they've played it live. Otherwise he would say they rehearsed "Back In the Village" but they didn't opt for it.

At the time they released FOTD I remember an interview with Steve in a brazilian mag, where he said Chains of Misery could be a potential single.

Thanks Lira! I agree with most you said apart from this; setlist is not always a list exclusively used in a live set. It can also be used before that live set (a tour (or separate performance)) has started. But in this particular context, you could be right.
Introduction
The following list is intended as an addendum to Forostar's list of Maiden songs played live. It contains all officially released live recordings by Iron Maiden, song by song, with date, venue and official release on which it can be found. The numbers after the date/venue refers to the tour segments determined by Forostar.
The album and video versions of Live After Death have been seperately listed, as they contain different performances. Otherwise, the albums and videos are not distinctly marked, as they are identical. An exception has only been made for Beast Over Hammersmith, because the video found on The Early Days is only a part of the entire set, which is complete on the CD release in Eddie's Archive. A Real Live/Dead One has been treated as two separate albums.
In case of diverging track lists, different pressings and issues of live singles and EPs have been noted. The different versions of Live After Death (album) and Maiden England are not taken into account, as the currently available versions are complete. Mere reissues (including The First Ten Years box set) have not been taken into account, although compilation albums have. I am aware that a lot of work has yet to be done to make this list perfect, and any participation and contribution is more than welcome.
A list of open questions is found at the end. As I currently do not have access to all my Maiden files, some very simple questions (such as comparing two live versions) could not be answered, and I would be grateful if someone could help out here. Also, if someone owns relevant bootlegs and can check some of the disputed or uncertain dates, this would be an invaluable contribution.

The following list is intended as an addendum to Forostar's list of Maiden songs played live. It contains all officially released live recordings by Iron Maiden, song by song, with date, venue and official release on which it can be found. The numbers after the date/venue refers to the tour segments determined by Forostar.
The album and video versions of Live After Death have been seperately listed, as they contain different performances. Otherwise, the albums and videos are not distinctly marked, as they are identical. An exception has only been made for Beast Over Hammersmith, because the video found on The Early Days is only a part of the entire set, which is complete on the CD release in Eddie's Archive. A Real Live/Dead One has been treated as two separate albums.
In case of diverging track lists, different pressings and issues of live singles and EPs have been noted. The different versions of Live After Death (album) and Maiden England are not taken into account, as the currently available versions are complete. Mere reissues (including The First Ten Years box set) have not been taken into account, although compilation albums have. I am aware that a lot of work has yet to be done to make this list perfect, and any participation and contribution is more than welcome.
A list of open questions is found at the end. As I currently do not have access to all my Maiden files, some very simple questions (such as comparing two live versions) could not be answered, and I would be grateful if someone could help out here. Also, if someone owns relevant bootlegs and can check some of the disputed or uncertain dates, this would be an invaluable contribution.

From memory I think, Sanctuary is the same, Murders in the Rue Morgue is from a UK date possibly ipswich??, NOTB is from Dortmund, Afraid to Shoot Strangers is goteborg 1995,
also I think you missed Wrathchild from the Hallowed Live 7 inch.
EDIT: there was also a download version of the Different World single that could have different live tracks on it, I'll check that later too
MORE EDIT: the download version had an exclusive live version of Different World on it, I suspect it was from the same gig as the regular Different World b-sides

Drifter from the original 7 inch is different from the versions subsequently released. Both the version on the original 7 inch and the one that appears on subsequent releases are not the full track but different edits of the full version, it could be that they are edited from the same source material or it could be that they are two different versions all together

I think Murders in the Rue Morgue was recorded at one of the Hammersmith Odeon gigs in 1984
If I remember correctly, the live version of Different World was recorded in Aalborg.

that rings a bell alright, I actually had tickets for the Aalborg gig as it was originally supposed to be the first gig of the tour, my dream is to see the first gig of a Maiden tour so I can see a rare track before they drop it and replace it with Wrathchild. But then they announced a US tour before the european leg, so I sold the tickets as Aalborg was proving quite expensive to travel to. If I had gone to the gig I could have fulfilled another Maiden dream of being at a gig featured in an official live release.
According to Wiki, this is a "previously unreleased" live version... I guess somebody needs to listen to this version to be able to identify it (shouldn't be hard, the LAD version is iconic enough to positively identify it). I unfortunately never had the LP version.

I have the LP, I'll check it later, I suspect that it is the familiar version from Live after Death, but I honestly don't think I've ever played the LP, I didn't buy it when it was released only picked it up about 10 years ago
