Iron Maiden Sells Half of Their Catalog, Name And Likeness Rights to Pophouse Entertainment

Also, am I the only one who doesn’t give a flying fuck about Eddie? Can we please just get back to the music?
Eddie is part of Maiden and for decades it was their Image for non Metal people. I was basically for a while the only metal head in the 80s at my School and everyone was always amazed by Maiden's Album Covers.

Sadly their new Event Shirts are really poor Design and Execution Wise...

I do understand. But Eddie wouldn’t have lived long if the music was shit.

As someone who also went to school in the 80s I can confirm what you said, with the addition of being mocked and bullied and pretty much ostracised by others for choosing to wear band tshirts and generally being a metalhead.

Let's change it to the 96 Chile Blaze gets mad version

I FUCKIN' TOLD YOU, I FUCKIN' TOLD YA. RIGHT I FUCKIN' TOLD YA. CAN YOU SEE.. CAN YOU SEE WHO IT FUCKIN' IS? GET 'IM! FUCKIN' GET 'IM! CAN YOU SEE HIM? CAN YOU SEE? KILL 'IM!
They have seen a future film right there LOL

Not that there was ever any doubt, I think it confirms we will still be seeing an awful lot of Eddie's face on various paraphernalia once Maiden have ceased to be a band.

My first reaction is eh, my second reaction is eww, and my third reaction is I should've kept my mouth shut about Bruce getting his way and the band committing to recording a new album next year. Well, I did make a similar unfounded post before the tour about a certain setlist change which came true so figures it won't be 2 for 2.

I will say the previously stated year off suddenly becoming a "Who knows? Maybe we're back sooner than you think" makes more sense now that this deal has been announced.

Kind of ties into my point on Pophouse holding the controlling interest. That's my stance and I'm sticking to it!

I'm actually wearing a Maiden shirt I got from Tesco's.

I don't think that would have been a thing in the 2000s. Maybe Maiden weren't that cool then. You would see generic Nirvana, ACDC, Kiss shirts but not Maiden.

Like this shirt they have no design on the back and they are the kind of design you wear even if you don't actually listen to the band just because they look cool.

The equivalent of a t shirt with random CALIFORNIA BEACH SURFING or something generic on it you can get from places like Tesco.

Anyway my shirt does look kind of cool, it's got the REAL DEAD ONE Eddie on it

This shirt pre dates this new Maiden news but maybe we will see more of this kind of thing. (And no I don't care if non fans wear the shirts)

Oh yeah, they signed on to sell half their control away right before the previously announced sabbatical year. Yeah, it would likely take some convincing to get the Pophouse people on board with their only currently active acquisition deciding to simply not tour after coming off a two-year seemingly massively successful 50th anniversary trek.

Also, if the Infinite Dreams experience was their handiwork, I don’t have high hopes. It wasn’t the best. Interesting, but nothing special.
It was cool to see old pieces all together, but the presentation on some of it was odd, to say the least. I mean, the SSOASS iceberg pieces and Clairvoyant candle sculpts still in braced trolleys rather than properly displayed? Not terribly important pieces, but still reeks of, "oh, good enough."

I doubt pophouse or whatever they are called are so short sighted as to through a tantrum about maiden taking next year off. this is a multi-year deal.

Perhaps the equivalent of Steve leaving "they only fill us with the STUFF that they want" in the lyrics to Wild Wind Blows.

I like the think it was a placeholder word he never bothered changing.
