Ugh, ran out of votes. Still Life, Another Life, Genghis, Innocent Exile, Prodigal Son, Purgatory, Twilight Zone.

I like Ides of March enough to leave it be, same with Killers, and Wrathchild has been forced grown on me. I deselected Murders in the RM (not the Royal Mail) and Drifter, although I would have voted for them too if I'd had enough votes. I just don't enjoy Killers on the whole, at least not the studio recordings of these songs with the echoey 70s social club turn vocals.

Nah. It's that sick baseline, the unrelenting churning action, the groove, the nonsensical lyrics, and the searing leads.

Now I've got to find some serious piece of mind or I'll just go crazy!

''Killers'' and ''Wrathchild'' are the best songs. ''Purgatory'' and MITRM are also quite good. I started to like ''Another Life'' and I completely changed my opinion on ''Drifter'' - both are good fun rockers. The album has a nice intro and a very good instrumental. It seems Killers is not that bad album.

''Innocent Exile'' is a filler song, but it's one of the earliest songs that Steve has written, so maybe that's why the mood in it is strange to me (big vibes from the 70's). And ''Prodigal Son'' is the worst song in Maiden's discography.

EDIT: ''Prodigal Son'' has also a 70's vibe.... - strange/unusual song for the band.

Yeah, Murders In The Rue Morgue is good too and Genghis Khan is their best instrumental imo. I also agree about Prodigal Son.

Killers is the best sounding, most metal Maiden album. Also has the most memorable cover.

While I like the nasty title track, it is number 3 for me after the blistering Rue Morgue and the frenetically weird Purgatory. Ides/Wrathchild is a badass #4, with the atmospheric Prodigal Son and the cinematic Khan also well worth the price of admission.

It loses points for the lack of songwriting depth and the fact that it is the only Maiden album without an epic (depending on how you judge Mother Russia)
But it remains a fun listen to a very hungry young band, and it certainly doesn’t suck.

Almost the same here being Murders and Killers my in exequo number ones, Wrathchild my number 3, Khan #4 and Purgatory #5. Hell of an album.

I know it's a lost cause at this point, but I've always had a soft spot for Innocent Exile. Probably the most underrated song of the first 2 albums IMO.
 
Everything off Killers except Genghis Khan (my favourite instrumental), Killers, Prodigal Son and Purgatory.

Didn't vote Prodigal Son, simply because it will get enough votes.
