Agreed. Shadows is easily one of the most underrated songs in Maiden's entire catalog.can't understand the hate for Shadows of the Valley, the section from 4.45 up and including the "into the valley" section is arguably the best on the album for me.
I love the song, just gotta go with the weakest ones left. It's what it is.can't understand the hate for Shadows of the Valley, the section from 4.45 up and including the "into the valley" section is arguably the best on the album for me.

Why, though? The intro guitar sets a mood, the opening riff slaps, the verse melodies work, the "Whoa" section is catchy, the actual "The red and the black..." part sounds legitimately thoughtful, and the instrumental is both varied and engaging.Only TRATB until it's gone. It doesn't deserve to survive.

What I'm having trouble understanding is all the hate Speed Of Light and Empire Of The Clouds – two of my favourite songs off the album – are getting. Would somebody care to explain?
People don't understand folk ballads made metal.Don’t understand anyone voting for Empire. It shouldn’t even be included in the game, just immediately placed in the top three.
It’s incredibly bloated and repetitive and the vocals-singing-with-a-lead-guitar sounds moronic. It’s just a bad, lazy compositional choice.
How is Empire repetitive? All sections are different and it doesn't even have a chorus.I thought you were describing Empire at first!
