Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

More likely someone fucked up by posting stuff early.
I thought about that but then the tweet is still up. Surely if it was a fuck up they would have removed it by now, 21hrs later. But if its not an unintentional leak then it's a strange way to announce it ie coming from AXS and not Maiden and/or Netflix. Then there's the possibility that it's utter fake news but that's also strange considering who AXS are.

Hmmmm, we shall see (a documentary at some stage).

Some serious and quite interesting analyzis about the rumors on the Iron Maiden documentary coming next year.

Curiously enough, the news made it onto Finnish radio as well. Doubly strange since it appears to be the same rumor, despite the station being one of the local partners of the show next year with ticket raffles and contests in the pipeline. You'd think there was some inside information since they almost certainly also knew of the tour itself ahead of time.

The documentary will probably be aimed at new fans or people who aren't fans yet. For folks like us it'll be more of a "one and done" kinda deal, if I had to guess.

It would be very exciting to me to see some kind of vault or archives release. Haven't had anything like that in a long while and the timing would be perfect. A man can dream.

I think all the people Steve thanked in the Senjutsu booklet will feature, so there may be some interest for us old school fans.

Cool video. Like a tour documentary. I'd love to see one with the rest of the band. Adrian's pick (Writing On The Wall) did not surprise me, because as he said he likes such groovy and not fast songs in which he can express himself.

There's some official footage and sound in this short video, so maybe they'll release a live video like Stranger last year soon this time? Or it's from the upcoming live concert video... like they did with TBOS:Live Chapter's tour videos in 2017.

Good call. Maybe it's not aimed for the hardcore fans (if they release a big documentary after they retire, for sure), but I guess they can still feature/say something interesting, especially if they discuss not only the albums/songs writing but also the tours and stage sets throughout their career.
Edit: and with so many people involved - it should be a quite long documentary, right? So 1975-1992 + Blaze era/1999-2008 & the last 3 tours is possible, right.

Good point. If I had to guess more than half of the documentary will deal with the 80s and a good chunk could be devoted to the early 2000s, rejuvenated band, touring with a plane, bringing back Powerslave in 2008, and so on. Curious to see if we get any vault footage for the Blaze shows or if they'll default to already released material (Afraid To Shoot Strangers from the X Factour being an obvious choice).

Here's a direct link to save you scrolling through Blabbermouth.

Yes, it is really strange that Kevin Shirley liked that post.
This nevertheless makes no sense to me. Why wouldn't a band make a big announcement about such a documentary themselves and let instead axstv share this news first.
So we watch
And we wait
And we pray for announcement
An end to the still and their inscrutability
