Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

I think to a certain extent you could say that, and many people lazily do, about all bands that have their own identity.

The more generic bands, you can't say it about, because first and foremost you can't get away from the material sounding like everyone else.

Kinda boring choice for a title, but not surprising since one of the biographies had the same title. If it's real, that is.
Probably not surprising, given some of my takes, but I disagree with large parts of that list :D
The 80s live albums are legendary (LAD) or at least from their golden years (ME, BBC Archives, BOH), but I don't like listening to them as much. I far prefer the early 2000s records. I also have a soft spot for Donington 1992, which has many unique oddities, like the first time the reunion line-up performed a song together.

If the date and info are correct, it seems that the documentary will be inspired by the new tour's theme - mainly from early days up to and including the early 90's? Maybe that's why the title is the same. I guess the early Reunion era, the latest album and the latest tours can be touched too if it's long enough.
Either way it makes for an interesting read.
Yep, but I think the word used should have been ''darker''.
Some are better performed and produced (since 2000), but all live albums are cool. Yes, even from the 90's and some songs. The only exception is NOTD, unfortunately.

That will be season 2.

Joking aside, it seems to be the same story from a few days ago that was dismissed, no smoke without fire maybe?

How is AXSTV not official confirmation?

Also have been assuming the doc would be called Run For Your Lives since the tour name was announced.

They don't seem to have cited any sources, we've not seen anything from the band or Netflix themselves. For all we know they're just reposting from that same site we've already seen?

Yep, now this whole thing is getting out of hand. Everywhere these same fakes are posted as some believe those to be real deal.

What about that other tweet from months ago, someone saying they just had a fun day producing a new Maiden documentary? I know ITV (British broadcaster) were mentioned but who posted it? I can't recall.

AXS are a legit big company and specialise in music related capers. Seems odd that they would tweet a baseless rumour. So my guess is that they had a hand in making the documentary and so begins the hype train.

What I wonder though is how the story will be covered. We've already had 75-88 in depth (mostly). Will this be a short series, 4 parts or so, like the Bon Jovi one or will it go sorta in depth the whole way through til the modern day or will it be 70% about their most popular era, 80s, with a brief nod to the last 20 or 30 years?

Obviously I hope for in depth, 40 episodes, access all areas and eras. But maybe Maiden will keep that kinda stuff for post retirement and eventually pick up the History series where they left off.

Oh don't get me wrong. There is DEFINITELY a documentary coming. I'm even convinced it's coming next year. I fact I think releasing on Netflix in March even seems likely.

But when the first source posting this news was some random as fuck website with no prior track record or credibility then it makes me skeptical.

AXS being a large media company does help, but without a legit first hand source I'm unsure.

This is kind of what I'm thinking. I don't think AXS would post something that was blatantly fake because their social media account is probably just posting stuff that is directed by management. More likely someone fucked up by posting stuff early.
