Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

And on the 36th anniversary of Somewhere in Time, Maiden announced a new release celebrating something much more worth celebrating, the 40th anniversary of The Number of the Beast.

Edit: IMHO the decision to replace Gangland with Total Eclipse is quite stupid...

Then again, the official 2015 remasters and the previous black vinyl reissue appropriately had the original album, so I'm actually quite fine with the option of having "Total Eclipse Inc." version of the album on black vinyl as well.

But yeah, having both, Gangland and Eclipse would obviously be the best option

I saw the announcement video and was like "hell yeah, finally they've included both!" until I realized. What the hell, why would they excise Gangland instead of just having both like the '98 remaster already did?

I should have added they are charging £65 for the 3LP. They must be short of cash!

Prices have gone through the roof, they've been putting out 3 lp's for years, and they we're never over priced, maybe about 30 euros.

The bog standard was €40 for Senjutsu, and the "rare" versions were €65, that is armed robbery. And if this reissue can't be got for cheaper on sites other than amazon it will be very disappointing that €65 is now seen as the flat rate for a triple lp.

I have the original Japanese lp and I don't think it cost me that much, and that was with shipping from Japan!

I agree with you about the decision to replace ''Gangland'' with ''Total Eclipse'' (you can't change history). Steve and Bruce are happy with it, Adrian probably not (since he likes the song). The flow of the album is great with each of the songs imo.

I must say I really like these short video trailers for their releases.

I like that they do something for the 40th anniversary of this ''classic for the ages'' album, but I really wanted the whole concert video from 1982 (dark or not) to be released. At least the cover for BOH is better now (and the album is not just a part of a box set) and I can spot some cool live pictures.

... something like this for Somewhere In Time would be so cool.

Btw, I've never seen this Eddie before:

The likeliest reason is there's not enough space on the vinyl. The '98 remasters were CD's. This is why Maiden had to choose between the two songs originally.

I kind of wish they had this announced earlier this year when the cassette was released. Anyway, I'll still definitely be buying this just to have BOH on vinyl.

£65 is the RRP. Wait a while for the price to drop on Amazon etc. Additionally, vinyl prices have gone up due to global supply issues and probably Brexit.

£65 mate, £65. On the official Fan Club forum someone has already mentioned that the asking price is 82€ in Finland.
