Instrumentals game (YouTube playlist online!)

I knew there were lots of other good instrumentals but already had 44 contributions which I had to trim down. I did expect more contributions from other members.

I also had a few songs that I regret for not having suggested but ah well, there's a lot left... and it's kinda difficult to change things now, also with playlists and such. Hope that's alright.

Today I discovered that two songs in the playlist were deleted. Night Prowler has just repaired them.

Remember: if people want to hear songs in advance of the game:
The Playlist itself plus all separate songs and more info can be found in the opening post.

This is an instrumental by British Prog-Metal band Splintered Soul. I first heard this about 6 years ago before they got a singer.

@Black Wizard

Unfortunately, the song Epic by Splintered Soul cannot be found on YouTube anymore.
Unless you find a way to have it uploaded again by someone, or know a different location on internet, would you give an alternative song for the game?

Welp, we forgot classical music, this survivor is dead without it.

;)

I avoided it on purpose. I don't think it'd be fair, classical music pieces are too long and rich to compete with shorter tracks and it's not fair to break them down into little pieces when they're not actually a piece on their own. (e.g. Rondo Alla Turca by Mozart is not a seperate piece, it's a part of a symphony)

Besides, when I hear the term "instrumental" to describe a song, I think of genres that generally have vocals, such as rock and pop. Not classical or jazz.

Exactly. I had doubts over suggesting jazz pieces as well, but I wanted people to hear them so I did bring them on.

I'm actually just having a look at the list on post #1. Did we really need to have mutiple tracks by so many bands/artists? Fair enough in some cases e.g. Pink Floyd &/or Maiden. But, five Joe Satriani tracks?! :eek:

Considering that most Satriani songs are better than any Maiden instrumental, I say YES!
Hmmm. Considering Satriani is an instrumentalist (in the main) & Maiden have rarely recorded without a vocal/lyric, that's not really surprising. I actually don't care how many Maiden have in there (Maiden's intrumentals are hardly stellar examples of their songwriting anyway), I just think five Satriani tracks is too many. But, hey ho; Foro asked & that's what folks suggested.

EDIT: I also keep mis-spelling his name! :D

Some of those have really good crossover appeal too. Hopefully even the pure metal fans around here can appreciate the heaviness/intensity of Birds of Fire.
