Iced Earth

Originality when replacing somebody is totally overrated. Hell, if he was doing anything out of the ordinary people would complain about that. I'm very happy with Stu.

And Athens is nothing short of amazing. I wish it had been recorded during the Horror Show tour though, so that we could have Dracula and Jack too.

Then we'd have to miss a some pre-Dark Saga songs (especially Dante's Inferno). I am very fond of the 2nd and 3rd IE album.

But I really like Horror Show. Probably my number 3 studio album. Next to Maiden and Bruce, the Horror Show tour could be the coolest concert experience I've ever had. Great memories.

I am not that fond of Dracula as most other people, though. Overbombastic Blind Guardian chorus with over the top vocal layers and simple rhythm.

I am thinking of going to this tour as well. The new guy's approach to the vocals is unoriginal, but this is a chance to see Dante's Inferno.
It's worth it just for that song. Damien was also very cool live.

And I agree about Horror Show, it's a great album. My favorite by IE.

Wow, that's a monster setlist, 29 songs! What's that, a three hour show, or 2,5?

Not sure anymore. 3 sets which probably took 2,5 hours or something in between 2,5 and 3 hours. Damien was one of the highlights (plus Jon Schaffer pointing at me when saying "I see you have some Maiden fans in here" and then introducing Transylvania).

That was essentially a shorter version of what they played last night, a set which was shorter than expected because Stu has been ill recently and they didn't want to fuck his voice for the DVD recording. It was a good effort last night but not a patch on what I saw in Birmingham last year. Stu promised that they would come back to Glasgow but if I'm still living in Scotland then and if he is still in the band remains to be seen...

I like Stu and everything, but:
He struggled on this video a lot, but if he was really sick, I forgive him :) Plus, I think he still needs to adjust to singing clean vocals only, and to these longer tours.
But regardless of anything, I'd like to see Barlow back. No one like Barlow :shred:

Funny moment when his mic falls on stage! I don't think he sang that bad!

Edit: later on it gets worse indeed.
I also don't like his anti-politics rant... but a cool song follows it!

Woah, I respect your opinion, but even Anthem beats Boiling Point I think.

Did you notice how he said "Brothers and Sisters!"
:)

Stu is funny. He's made a couple of mistakes both times I've seen him. Last year in Birmingham he was talking about "Guy Fawkes Day" and last week he mispronounced Glasgow in a way that only an American can. :P
