I know it was all based on something else that was made up by someone else, which makes this portrayal imo even more difficult to appreciate. I don't think I would like Spawn or other stories of such depression. And I guess that I generally appreciate songs about real emotions more. That said: apart from some recent emotions that have appeared in the head of IE's bandleader.

Yes I do. But with music I seldomly have heard something like this. I edited my previous post a bit which might explain it a bit better.

It's not as depressing as you're making it out to be. And as I said, the character in the song has reasons to be depressed. Now, the fact that you don't like stories of "depression" is a different thing...

Would you feel any different towards it if it were about Lord of the Rings?

@NP: Why not? Of course, I made a caricature but still, I just took another look at the lyrics and this is quite depressing stuff.

@Per: it's the dark/fatal nature of the content of this song. I wouldn't like Lord of the Rings if it was remotely like this.

I find suicide (and the stuff that can lead towards it) an incredibly sad thing. So, all this started with making fun of Barlow (or the song), but (graphical) songs about these topics, from the point of view of the one who wants to commit it, are perhaps a bit too much for me to get positively excited about.
So I am not a robot, Black Wizard, rather someone who can get too emotional. ;-)

That doesn't mean that I dislike the song. I just prefer other sides of this band.
