Knockin' on Heaven's Door (I ranked this dang thing lower than I ranked My World)

I don't like it either, but I would never put it lower than My World.. My World would probably come lower than the majority of pop songs for me it's just that horrible :P

On another note, Night Prowler is crazy. Coma/Rocket Queen!?

Yea nothing is worse than My World. I think if we had a survivor combining every band we've ever done a survivor for, My World would be the first to go. Yes, even with all those Testament songs. :P

My World is at least funny. I like to play it for people and try to convince them it's a Guns N' Roses song. They never believe me. :p Silkworms, too.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is I value shitty songs more than blah songs.

Wow, Nightrain is my favourite GNR song. I find it by far their best song with a strong build-up and great solos and chorus. If it goes out this soon I don't think I'll hang around here. I don't want to blackmail or act like a whiner but there's simply not much left of the same quality to fight for. Just my 2 cents.

As much as I love Nightrain, Locomotive is by far the most devastating casualty of this round, imo. I thought it would be more popular around here for some reason. It has some of Slash's best work, fantastic lyrics, and one of the best outros in GN'R's catalog (which says a lot since their outros are their strong suit).

It has some cool hypnotic riffs, indeed. But the melodies and all round qualities of Nightrain can't be surpassed by anything Axl sang on it.

I love Locomotive. One of my favorites.

Nightrain is definitely a cool song, it was tough to vote for it

I enjoy Locomotive but with the selection available here the only thing I'd consider an alternative vote is Jungle, and I think that just pinches it.

I am pretty sure that if we'd done this in reverse order, Nightrain would have ended in the top 10.

Now that would actually be pretty interesting. I'd like to see how long the Chinese Democracy tracks lasted in a reverse survivor since clearly they'll be annihilated in this one except maybe TWAT and Better. I think you're right about Nightrain, though.

Especially in this survivor a reverse order could be more fair, because I bet most songs from the debut are the most popular.

Not 100% sure but now the least good Appetite songs might die while they could be seen as stronger than later surviving work.

The survivor games generally favour the later material, just the way it works.

I really like Chinese Democracy tbh, This I Love / Prostitute / TWaT / IRS / Street of Dreams, those are my prefered picks. Somewhere around the middle of the album it all kinda blurs together for me, but then I listened to it excessively when it came out and would probably be capable of singing/humming along to the words to every song at worst if it was on in the background, but not if I conciously tried ^^.

In terms of song quality, I actually think a lot of Chinese Democracy is better than Appetite. Appetite's definitely more consistent and cohesive, but I think TWAT, Better, Prostitute, Catcher, IRS, and Street of Dreams are better than every song off of Appetite barring Rocket Queen, It's So Easy, and maybe Nightrain. Though I will say all of Appetite tops CD's lows (Sorry, Chinese Democracy, Scraped, Riad, If the World).

I am curious to know your G n'R top 10, care to post it? :D or maybe you'd like to hold out doing that till we are done polling.

Here it is:

1. Coma
2. Estranged
3. There Was A Time
4. Rocket Queen
5. One in a Million
6. Breakdown
7. November Rain
8. Crash Diet
9. Oh My God
10. Dead Horse
(11. Better
12. Catcher in the Rye)

I included 11 and 12 because two of the songs in my top 10 won't be included in the survivor I believe (Mosh, were you planning on including Oh My God with the CD songs? I don't remember).

Hurrah for Coma. I'd struggle to pick which is my number 1 as it is between 3-4 songs and entirely different depending on mood and how I'm looking at it.

There's no song I'd "rather listen to" over another one in the 4 which is the problem :P Something like November Rain I think is phenomenally well written, yet I think Coma is a masterpiece and This I Love can bring tears to my eye's very easily >.> Estranged is just pure awesome regardless. So none of the 4 can I particularly say I prefer to hear >.<

Certainly agree with one thing though, GnR outro's are killer. Coma's run down is just intense, especially when you try sing along to it :innocent:
