Correct.
The original short story reveals that the murders were committed by an orangutan on the loose. "Orangutan" is Indonesian for "Forest Man".
In EOTC, the blimp crashes is France. MITRM is quite explicitly set in France.


The film is about the "rebirth" of nature. It echoes the last line of "The Clairvoyant". ;)
