Clue 1: The opening line to A Tale Of Two Cities —> “tell the tale of Paschendale”
Clue 2: ß and ss in German make the same sound —> the most accepted spelling of Passchendaele in English has an ss
Clue 3: inspired by William Blake, who’s line “cruelty has a human heart” was added to Paschendale
Clue 4: “...he fell upon the cross...” —> lot of Crucifixion imagery in Paschendale
Clue 5: “when shall we three meet again?” —> “friend and foe will meet again...”
 
It was the second clue that gave me the idea, after studying the Battle of Passchendaele for a course.

I have no ideas so anyone can take the turn. Maybe someone who has not yet played? Newbies, now's your chance.
