I'm really surprised. Ok, it is a deep cut but not a "rare" song in any way.
It will be the last clue then, after what I am giving out the answer.

1) "A volcano erupts and sweeps a town away" = what happened between these two Japanese towns last October
2) Parallels is the name of an album by the band Fates Warning
3) self-explanatory (those who answered "Still Life" and "Déjà Vu" were on the right track)
4) "A hurricane devastates a city in its way" = Twister is a blockbuster about tornadoes
5) self-explanatory
6) "Are we the lucky ones saved for another day
Or they're the lucky ones who are taken away?"
7) Between "Public Enema Number One" and "The Assassin", the sixth song on the NPFTD album
 
Well thought clues. I honestly only got it when you said it was a deep cut that had never been played live. Then, clue #7 suddenly made sense! :D

Anyway, I'm a little busy and can't think of any clues right now, so anyone's welcome if they want to take a turn!
 
Well it seems that the game is going on pretty well, so I've decided to create a leaderboard in order to make the game more interesting. I will get around to making it in the coming days.
