Guess The Iron Maiden Song!

Clue #1: The music prominently features modal interchange. The lyrics talk quite a bit about light and colours. The live version adds something that the studio version didn't have.

Clue #2: Despite only being featured on one tour, the song ended up being one of the more memorable aspects of the show.
Journeyman? They added the guitar solo that wasn't in the studio version. "Red sky of the east", "colours of the dawn".

Precisely! Modal interchange, for those who don't know, is when the music is in a certain key and "borrows" a chord from a relative mode. The verses are that, where the song keeps switching from A minor to A major and back.

Clue #2 was about the song being an acoustic number and them bringing out the stools to sit, something not normally seen in a Maiden show.

Your turn @Murder of Rue Morgue !

When The Wild Wind Blows took over a decade from first ideas to finished song, so maybe that?
Invaders ?
These are good calls (if we consider "Invaders" a rewriting of "Invasion", albeit a very radical rewriting), but unfortunately not the correct songs!

Clue #1:
This song includes a returned favor.

Clue #2:
It took the song you are looking for quite some time to fully develop.

Clue #3:
The song you're looking for was never a single and was played only in one tour. And not even in all shows. Managed to leave the mark tho.

Wrong guesses: The Trooper, 22 Acacia Avenue, The Man Who Would Be King, Virus, When the Wild Wind Blows, Invaders

All guesses wrong. But one of you came really close to one clue!

Clue #4:
In the lyrics of our song, you find:
- a polyptoton
- the title of a very popular series of dark fantasy RPG videogames
- a Marvel superhero's name
Furthermore, I can say none of you mentioned the correct album yet. But again, one of you came really close.

Wrong guesses: The Trooper, 22 Acacia Avenue, The Man Who Would Be King, Virus, When the Wild Wind Blows, Invaders, Journeyman, Sea of Madness, Hooks in You
