Guess The Iron Maiden Song!

"Charlotte..."?
No.

Clue #1: Bad Company
Clue #2: Melvin
Clue #3: Thin White Duke
Clue #4: Only one person is credited for writing this song

Wrong guesses: I'm a Mover, Wrathchild, Stranger In A Strange Land, Holy Smoke, The Assasin, Prodigal Son, The Man Who Would Be King, If Eternity Should Fail, Rime Of The Acient Mariner, Charlotte The Harlot

Wrong guess incoming: Wasted Years?
Correct!

Clue #1: Bad Company - Dave Colwell, who wrote Reach Out, the B-side to WY, was the guitarist of Bad Company at one time.

Clue #2: Melvin - Adrian Smith's early 80's drunken alter ego, similar to Martin Birch's Marvin. Those 2 verses of WY are speaking about that:

But now it seems, I'm just a stranger to myself
And all the things I sometimes do, it isn't me but someone else

And H wrote that.

Clue #3: Thin White Duke - One of David Bowie's characters. Wasted Years was originally named Golden Years, but it was renamed, because of David Bowie's song Golden Years.

Clue #4: Only one person is credited for writing this song - Pretty self explanatory.

Again, can I ask you, how did you get it?

Melvin=H, so I knew he wrote the song, I remembered the original name for WY and the fourth clue sealed it in for me :P

Well, damn. I've actually learned a piece of Maiden trivia from this thread! Surely this justifies all forum games now and in the future.

Well, here is a paragraph on that subject:

Adrian “H” Smith – Dave’s guitar partner, also a 26-year-old Hackney-ite, his usual shyness and near-morose reserve is in fact a cover for … Melvin! Ade’s hideous Mr Hyde-style alter ego, no magic potion needed here, simply vast quantities of alcohol, are enough to complete the terrifying transformation and render our mild-mannered axe man a hotel-trashing, plane-delaying monster, prone to kiss or wallop anything that moves according to mood …

I figure your clues are self-explanatory? Or is there some sort of hidden meaning in them?

Let me think for a little bit. I'll post the first clue in a few.
