I'm glad I missed the latest incarnation of the "artistic merits of the growl" debate. As a depressed pedant, I'm learning that some beasts are not defeated through struggle, but through indifference.

Re: Long Live Rock 'n' Roll, I think the album is Rainbow's best work, and apparently I think much more highly of 'Rainbow Eyes' than most here. 'Gates of Babylon' and 'Kill the King' are top tier songs, and I think 'The Shed (Subtle)' is a fine groovy blues rock tune.

Voted for:
Running Wild's Port Royal is an excellent album, along with Death or Glory their best albums. It has been very difficult because A matter of Life and Death is the best Maiden's reunion album
Queensrÿche Empire is a good album and well produced and because I've never listened any Blind Guardian album after Somewhere far Beyond.
Maiden's The Book of Souls: Although it's the weakest reunion album it has 4 or 5 good songs on it. And because between Maiden and Bathory I choose classic Metal
Sodom's Agent Orange it's the classic trash metal album from the germans. Awesome. No doubt I choose Sodom

Night of the Stormrider is a really good album. All it’s missing is Barlow to take it to the next level.

Voted for the same and fixed the AMOLAD statement for you.

Diesel, you're supposed to vote for your favorite album and not least favorite. You seem to have voted against Maiden twice.

I’m supposed to vote using any criteria I like. My criteria: there’s too much Maiden in this damn game.

Empire might be Queensryche‘s last good album, but it is really, really good.
If you like your metal commercial, yet smart, well crafted, well-performed, aNd varied, without being soulless and calculated (and I do) you really can’t get much better than this. Nightfall is good power metal, but it is power metal.

AMOLAD might be Maiden’s best album. Enough said.

Im not sure where I rank Book of Souls given the perspective of time, but I know a competitor I’ve never heard before isnt going to beat it. I did kinda like the creaking, primitive rawness of the Bathory track.

Without getting into singing or composition at all, Iced Earth‘s riffing carries the 4th match. On first impression, I didnt see anything that elevated the Sodom album beyond other second-tier thrash albums we left behind long ago.

AMOLAD is one of Maiden's finest. Easy vote.

Blind Guardian, not because I like them, but because they're not Queensryche.

Book of Souls is no AMOLAD, but it's my pick anyway.

Iced Earth, easily.

Night of the Stormrider is a really good album. All it’s missing is Barlow to take it to the next level.
Most of the album is performed (out of order) on Alive in Athens, with Barlow.

My criteria: there’s too much Maiden in this damn game.
Even though I voted for them here (twice), I agree. It's obvious bias, and we all know that a Maiden album is going to win this whole thing. I also don't think anything related to Maiden (e.g. Bruce's solo stuff, Blaze) should have been accepted, either.
