Deep Purple stops Mekong Delta's GMAC run.
Fake news, there was obviously massive fraud, Mekong Delta won by at least 45 votes! Chinese hoax! We’ll see which album is still in the GMAC on January 20th!

But seriously, thanks for listening to the album and giving it some life in the competition. It sounds like a few of you were pleasantly surprised and will keep listening to it beyond the GMAC, which is good to hear.

Looks like @Ariana made a good deal because there's a good chance I would have voted for Rush here, but I'm a man of my word, so Tremonti will be getting my vote.

I'm still going to listen to the album though and give my honest assessment.

Halls of Valhalla is a masterpiece. Overall it's a good album but perhaps the weakest since the Ripper years.

Mekong Delta is simply more my speed than Deep Purple. It's not an album I love, but it's interesting and I'll be digging more into it and other albums from the band.
For people who liked Wanderer On The Edge Of Time, a good next stop is Tales Of A Future Past, which just released earlier this year. The lineup is almost the same (turnover on one of the guitar players, I think), and it’s another concept album with a number of instrumentals mixed in with the vocal-driven tracks. High quality stuff.

I haven’t delved into their pre-2010 material yet, but it sounds like @karljant is pretty familiar with that era. The Wanderer lineup did put out an album of re-recordings of the band’s earlier material called Intersections in 2012, but since I haven’t listened to the originals in any detail yet, I don’t know how they compare. I know they changed singers a few times in that early period, which makes me a little wary because I can be a bit picky when it comes to vocals...LOL.

That's a big oof for my nominations next league: Tool might defeat another of my Devin nominations, Deconstruction Vs Bolt Thrower is also rough, and maybe worst of all if Sabbat wins here (and they BETTER win this), they'll go against frickin Crack the Skye.

Mark my words, League 1 will have 15 Maiden albums and the rest will be albums by the Big Four, Priest, Sabbath and Dream Theater. Perhaps Rush and Pink Floyd too.

Are you saying the albums that make it out of League 1 to the playoffs will be that, or the albums that make up League 1's new entrants?
