Each Ghost album is another step forward for the band in some way.

Opus Eponymous had some good moments, but a lot of times they were undercooked or not fleshed out enough and more time was given to filler.
Infestissumam was a step forward in songwriting, but a step backwards in execution. The songs are more fleshed out, but they aren't really good songs.
Meliora finally found a good mix between songwriting and execution, and while it isn't perfect the results are far, far stronger than on previous albums.
Prequelle is the band finally saying "fuck it" and jumping right into the catchy pop stuff they've been working towards, and I think they finally succeeded at pulling it all off.

I disagree with this. If I hadn't known in which order the albums were released, I would've guessed Infestissumam was their first one. That is, further yet, if I knew it was an actual studio album, and not just a garage demo.

I mean I dislike the sound of that album, the production is really weak, and it's still my least favorite from them. Opus feels like a young band though whereas that album feels like that band trying to push forward (and failing).

That's the part I disagree with. To me, it doesn't sound like they're even trying to "flesh out" anything at all; it sounds pointless and bland for the most part. I didn't refer to it as a garage demo exclusively because of the production, it's the whole thing. Songwriting included.

I mean that's true, but I think the writing of the actual songs is stronger, it's just that the songs themselves aren't. The ideas are more fleshed out, but they aren't good ideas.

Also...
Give me some heavy fucking metal - this isn't quite heavy metal anymore.
I guess I don’t quite get this mindset. Ghost were never really heavy metal in the first place, it was more of a modern take on ‘70s hard rock with some metallic influences. They’re the last place I’d go to for heavy fucking metal. I get disliking the album but not really that statement.

The guitar bits on Prequelle are the most “metal” stuff yet, but it’s balanced out with the poppiest stuff yet. Makes for a really cool mixture.

Dance Macabre - Designed for radio play. Still a catchy as fuck track and a solid entry in the Ghost canon. Sad they had to hire famous Swedish pop writers to make a second song on Prequelle that isn't utterly forgettable. 8/10, loses a point for not being written by the band.
Bands used outside writers all the time in the 70s. Kiss and Alice Cooper, two bands that greatly influence Ghost, immediately come to mind. I don't have a problem with it. The performance and delivery of the song is what counts, and they did a great job with it.

I didn't realise swedish outside writers wrote Danse Macabre, I would have sworn it was written by Schenker and Meine ;)

There will be one more round after this and then, the songs from Opus Emponymous rejoin the game and we go straight to the finals.

I feel like we should have had more eliminations before adding albums. Let's make some hard choices.

Yes. The game doesn't need to move this fast. Wait until there are ten songs left before bringing other songs in IMO.

We’ll see how the eliminations go first. Right now there are 22 songs left in the game. If I eliminate 5 per round that gets us to 12, then we add in the promoted 3 and we have a solid 15 for the finals.

Ghuleh/Zombie, Pinnacle to Pit, He Is, Mummy Dust, Ashes, See The Light. And that was being harsh on Prequelle, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not ready for vote for anything else yet.
