I consider the band's music between 1980 to 1992 as 'Classic Maiden'. The epic songs are a rarity rather than a convention on albums released during this time period and ever since The X Factor, a mere thin line remains between an epic and a straightforward 'rocker'.

Mind you, by 'Epic' I mean songs which are atleast longer than 5 minutes and have unorthodox arrangements in song structures. Hope I'm making myself clear. If you think a song doesn't belong here, you are absolutely free to discuss.

My favourite is the one and only: Hallowed Be Thy Name :rocker::rocker::rocker:

Rime Of The Ancient Mariner for me - epic in every sense of the word

And the moral of the story is what not to do if a bird shits on you

I don't generally consider Powerslave to be an epic but if it's on a list I'm gonna pick it. Best Iron Maiden song. If you pull Powerslave from the list then it's easily Phantom of the Opera.

I don't think some of them are "epics". My 2 favourites are Powerslave and Revelations + Hallowed of course. I went with Revelations, but it's a tie between those 2.

I don't think I would classify some as epics, but from the list - it's either Powerslave, Rime or Hallowed. Ofc Fear and Alexander. How to choose...

Loneliness too.
Many songs from Somewhere In Time could fit into the 'epic' category, even Caught Somewhere In Time and Heaven Can Wait. I particularly picked Alexander The Great due to its built-up and overall composition being comparatively more dynamic...

Remember Tomorrow, Prodigal Son, Revelations, Powerslave and Infinite Dreams aren't epics. Mother Russia arguably isn't either, but it gets a pass because NPFTD doesn't have anything else that would fit.

That said, easy:

Seventh Son Of A Motherfucking Seventh Son!
